Someone explain 2d and 3d in terms of life.

Since everyone on offtopic are professional scientists... Yes, I know what 2d and 3d are, but why can't living things be 2d? Is light 1d, 2d, 3d, or no d ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) (serious question though) Is darkness the same? Can a 3d object go into the second dimension, as of yet? And 2d to 3d? What dimension are black holes?

Light...is an electromagnetic wave which we perceive as propagating in 3 dimensions for movement and fields, but really that doesn't mean it isn't a subset of high dimensions. The darkness...is that thing we fight in a video game most of us on these forums probably. Black holes...is a topic where there is no 100% answer on all its properties though it does "consume" mass and release radiation making it sort of a recycling machine for "frozen energy" if you will. Of course that's a bad explanation too. I need sleep...I was just planning on posting stupid answers and cat memes.
