FOR CHILDREN.
Yet those adolescent children keep bumping that pathetic attempt of a thread.
You know the one.
"No it's an Anime, the creators themselves said that they've made a Anime, I think they would know"
Get out.
No, this is not an "attack", I enjoy RWBY but it's clearly not an anime.
Yes it's on CrunchyRoll, but the company doesn't care because they are making a profit as well as increase customer subscription with the show on CrunchyRoll
Yes RWBY has Anime like qualities, the art style, the characters look, the typical cool professor guy and the evil sinister stylish badguy.
Anime is made in Japan
Cartoons are made everywhere else
Wrong, this is a bit skeptical and biased but shows aren't great because they are great, it's the people who watch it to make it great.
It doesn't matter where a show is a created Dragonball Z was made in North America, but is an Anime but since it's created in the U.S so it's has to be a Cartoon.
Dragon ball Z is an anime.
Any true fans of cartoons and anime knows the difference.
RWBY is not a show, it's a movie
When the season is over and comes out in DVD suddenly it's a movie with no episode intros and endings. It isn't like that when anime is released.
With all the episodes calculated together for a full season it's the time length of a movie.
Backstory
So far the only backstory in RWBY is Ruby's mother?..
Signature mark of every Anime is a backstory, a scene where a character goes back to memory lane and shows the audience why they became who they are today.
Relationships:
In Anime relationship are always hinted and so clear and yet the creators avoid it so that the story remains fresh reading the audience with hints. (Doesn't apply if the anime is about relationships itself)
RWBY like many cartoons follows the cheesy idea of instantly pairing up the female characters with their similar make counter parts.
Blake with the instant tailed surfboard guy.
Red hair girl with loser blondy
Blonde hair girl with... I forgot.
Ruby.. Soon.
The show is very predictable.
Characters:
I agree that the art style as well as the character clothing and outfits are very anime like quality.
However the lines and dialogue lacks maturity, it's like watching the girly cartoon version of the expendables.
Typical character archetypes that makes it a cartoon:
Ruby: The new girl
Blonde hair girl: The pretty one, she's surprising tall, and what with the prologue of her grabbing a guys chunk!?!?
White hair girl: Typical rich fancy, self centre, ambitious, hating girl.
Blake: Guys name... The typical girl with a hint of darkness which actually makes the story interesting.
Blonde loser guy: There's always "that" guy.
Red hair girl: The creator is a fan of Fairy Tail.
In Anime, creators strive themselves to make unique characters otherwise the shows lose all credibility and views.
Ruby and the blonde hair girl:
They're both sisters, but no sisters out there except twins would actually hangout with each on especially at Hogwarts.
Which reminds me RWBY is kinda like Harry Potter, I assume the female show creator loved anime and Harry Potter.
Review of RWBY: 5/10 Nuff said, it's a pass.
But of course you die hard RWBY fans out there only saw the title and completely disagrees, especially if it is.. Me.
As always, I'm prepared for the sudden backlash.
New note:
Anime is mature yet quirky.
Cartoon is a lot of the time education, "making friends" "learning from your mistakes".
-
Does it really matter?
-
That reminds me, I need to go bump the RWBY thread.
-
Doesn't matter. Red Vs Blue is better.
-
Whats the difference between cartoons and anime, does anyone actually know? I dont.

Edited by Nerex: 9/22/2016 11:32:17 PMIf RWBY was made in Japan it would be an anime If it is made in Japan, it is anime Anime to them are cartoons to us. (The West)

It's just a fun show like the last air bender.
-
The creator was male
-
By definition, anime is literally Japanese cartoon.
