Twas the night before Wolves...
Just a poem that came to me while thinking back to previous threads. I know this only loosely matches the original, but it didn't match my style, so I just had fun with it. Feel free to make your own. Decided to post this early so people could read it while we all wait for the DLC to drop. going to be a long weekend. I hope you all enjoy :) Edit: 5-18-15 changed weekend to night
Twas the night before Wolves, And down in the Reef, The Queen plotted vengeance, To avenge her deceased… “The gates shall be opened…” The queen soon declares, “…for guardians willing To end my affairs” The guardians landed, They and their ghosts, Seeking bounties and treasures, For pleasing their host. Their targets were given, By name and by rank. No traitor forgotten, Nigh vandal nor shank. All over the system They hunted them down Bringing justice and violence, By the queen’s royal crown. At last was discovered, The leader of wolves… Whom the guardians greeted With sidearm trigger-pulls. Through tauntings and temptings, The wolf egged them on. Each time they closed in, He was suddenly gone! On Sparrows! On starships! They hunted him fast! “You’ll never defeat me!” -these words were his last… Through the portal he fled, At last to his ketch. With nowhere to run They cornered the wretch! The battle raged on, From the bow to the stern. These guardians have teeth, The Wolf would soon learn. The wolf aimed for the eyes, And wouldn’t have missed, If it had not have been, For the Titan’s storm fist. Now tired and weary, From all of this strife, His shields were depleted, By a last throwing knife. And receiving a round, By the side of his nose, He hit the ground hard, where his legend we close. …Dead was the “shadow thief”, The traitor himself… So they returned to the reef, And placed his head on a shelf. The queen was quite grateful, Her favor fulfilled. Her realm was avenged, And her wrath had been stilled. But the guardians paused, And feeling forlorn, Requested more targets, To meet their Gjallarhorns. The queen then relented, To the guardians’ hail. And offered them riches, For un-crowding her jail. For the fight of their lives The guardians prepared. The dangers unknown, But they were not scared. As they entered the prison, Their hunter shielded his grin. The doors slowly opened: “…Let the real hunt, begin.”
