I'm pretty sure he's reading from Old Testament. Christians have a new covenant. Any scripture you'll find in the New Testament that is oppressive towards women does not come from Christ but from Peter or Paul. A preacher I know says God made Eve from Adam's rib- to stand by his side. Not from his heel to be trod upon.
