I currently have 2 xbox 1s in my house. The one my son uses (xbox home console) and mine. I bought the second xbox so I could play Destiny with him. I am the only one that has a Gold account. We have been playing together just fine since Xmas. I have the digital collectors and we both have access to all the DLC expansions and also all the in game goodies that come with the digital downloads. I recently bought a new Xbox One S to replace the home xbox 1 my son uses. He inherited my xbox 1 and I now have the xbox 1s. I set the xbox 1 as the home xbox (the one my son uses) and now my he no longer has access to the taken king (aka all the DLC). I also reset that xbox today and reinstalled everything under my account after I set it as the home xbox. I thought this might jiggle he license but he still doesn't have access. What am I missing here?

I just figured it out. Under the "my apps and games" you need to "manage" the game. I assumed that the DLC was attached to my account. It was in additional download on the manage page for the game. There were 8 additional items that needed to be downloaded. Once these were downloaded, my son had access to everything like he did before. This works as long as he is on the "home" xbox.
