PSA: OWL and how to stop it.
Attention all guardians, this is a serious issue.
The variants of the OWL disease have been spreading rapidly through person to person. What ever you do, DO NOT CONTRACT THE DISEASE. Restrict yourself to patrols or not playing at all. Contracting the disease may give a buff for Exp or glimmer, but should not be trusted. A disease is a disease.
Patient "Zero" contracted the disease from the nightfall, most likely because the OWL website states that it started there. The crucible has been spreading it further, making it increasingly more common.
There are 5 variants of the disease. Each holds different buffs, but still shall not be trusted. The disease is spread by having an infected kill a non-infected using most likely their super or light. Avoid crucible and strikes all together.
I'm calling all of you to steer clear of crucible, a quarantine must be started. Until we know how to stop it and cure it, it will just infect more people. Please bump this post, the more involved in it whom aren't infected the better. Together we can find a cure to OWL to make our Rise of Iron adventures safe.

Important News: Getting a kill with a super and having a teammate pick up an orb of light will spread OWL. Defender Titans can not what so ever spread OWL. Please use this subclass in crucible to be safe.

9 RepliesWouldnt it be funny if everyone infected got bonus rep gain and xp to quickly level things up before roi as fools came up with wild conspiracys about something that would destroy an entire company. So far that infection has given me an extra level in both my faction and the crucible so my newly remade character is back to a level where im actually getting packages not just some motes and coins.

You realize this is Bungie's doing right? It's basically flaming head buff year three, and delivered in a way makes me recall the pokerus virus from the pokemon series , where the stat boosting buff could be obtained via random pokemon encounters or traded pokemon with the virus. It's a very clever viral (lol literally) marketing campaign by Bungie , and really people, is it coincidence that this starts happening after a random out of the blue maintenance period?
