If the opposing side is adamant about not switching opinions then there's no reason to debate. Therefore all debates are pointless because no one listens to other people.

Which several people on this site and in general fail to do, this is why most debates are pointless as they don't know how to truly debate in the first place. This especially applies when you throw only facts or only opinion in your argument rendering it null as you can't disprove fact nor can you disprove an opinion Checkmate.
