Destiny is Amazing

No sarcasm here. If you were looking for a gripe post...this ain't it. Destiny has been a lot of fun and has steadily gotten better and better as time has passed. And I gotta admit I'm happily surprised as I can't think of any other console game that has held my attention, this long. I played all sorts of MMOs before coming to Destiny. From WoW to Everquest and so many in between, like DAoC and Planetside and even Star Wars Galaxy! Compared to those games, Destiny actually has very little content. But it makes up for that content with amazing amounts of fun. I can't imagine running the same Instance in WoW, over and over and over and over and over, like with the Strikes in Destiny. I've gotten the Valus strike back to back to back in a row in Destiny, the same strikes I've run for over a year, and yet...it's still fun for me. I honestly can't think of any other game that can pull that off. Kudos. Destiny hasn't improved in graphics since launch, but it really doesn't need to. Compared to a lot of games out right now, Destiny is still visually stunning in many areas. It'll be a while before I forget the white flame racing across the pitch black floor towards Oryx's Chamber or the Disco-like Sunless Cell. Great stuff. I'm actually looking forward to the visuals in RoI more than anything else. Almost, every single complaint I had when the game came out has been addressed. I remember when purple engrams would give green loot! I wanted RNJesus to meet a Roman with a spear. But now, I've come to appreciate the power of random drops, regardless of effort put in. The randomness to the rewards makes it fun to try that strike again and again. The companion app is great. While LFG functionality would be nice, it's a lot better than other companion apps like AC Black Flags, and even Fallout's Pip-boy and the app seems to be getting better and better, just like the main game. Honestly, the most surprising and welcome aspect of this game is Bungie and how the company actually listens to it's player-base. Without the willingness to incorporate the sensible suggestions from players this game would have probably gone the way of Dinklebot and The Division. Have there been some silly choices made? Yup, but the Devs were pretty quick to stay in communication about the choices, and I can only applaud that kind of courage. Now, instead of having a flop, the Devs have to decide what to do with Destiny 1 when Destiny 2 comes out because frankly, many folks will probably still want to run crucible tourneys with Private matches now an option. In conclusion, I'd like to say thanks for the fun thus far! Keep up the good work.
