I should've clarified. Maya entered the device at least 2 times in Vex 5 looking for Chioma, and none of those times did she die. At the end when she says she'll see Chioma soon, I don't know if she was physically leaving the facility or whether she went back into the device to see Chioma. Maya kept using the machine to "see" to Chioma in the past, maybe she was doing it again, a final time. If she did leave the facility and went to live happily ever after with Chioma, then the whole find Maya part obviously is wrong. And admittedly that part, as you can tell, is speculation on my part but I think a good story direction. Even if that is incorrect, that doesn't invalidate Chioma as a potential candidate. We know the device is not a time traveling device, so it alone can't be the answer. Depending on the nature of Hyperion, Chioma might be even better equipped than Maya. All that said, it's all in fun for me, and I really don't take this serious. I try to put out plausible theories, and take a little liberty in speculation, recognizing I'm going to be wrong 90% of the time and am ok with that.
