So... this is going to be me mostly gushing about the gun now... so if you don't care about that, skip ahead to another topic.
So... Fabian got a buff, and it's a decent buff at that. With a range and stability increase that the gun needed, along with a added bonus to Front Lines, this gun has earned a place as a permanent spot in my inventory- no longer shall it sit in my vault at 280 light, now it sits pretty at 335 and as my near go to primary.
This gun at start made me sad, I was so excited to see that it was a mid fire that could turn into a max fire at close range. But beyond that it was never a good weapon, always out classed by other guns.
But now this gun is near perfect for my type of play style as a titan.
I took it for a test in the Nightfall, and it was mowing down targets with ease once Crowd Control hits... that ammo refund kicking in so much that by the time I was done shooting, I didn't even have to reload the gun.
A thing I noticed, that the ammo refund doesn't stop, it hits on ever 'kill' (IE Axion darts, environmental hazards ect.) to where at one point I ended up with 47 rounds in the mag- it looked like it gave you back almost ten rounds every kill it seemed. And that was enough as I was near killed enemies with at least two- four rounds thanks to Crowd Control. So my ammo count was just growing higher.
It really fits with my play style of "Put me in coach!" Where I just rush in with a shoulder charge and start unloading on the enemies- Life support keeping me in the fight the whole time as my team snipes the big targets in the back.
In PvE I give Fabian a solid 8/10, the only real draw back is the recoil pattern- an issue with all Hakke guns really. Takes a while to get used to, but it's still very annoying if you don't learn to control it.
In PvP, it's still very average, unlike Taloc where it is a monster in both PvE and PvP, Fabian kinda keeps it's head in PvE really.
While in PvP it does great work, but it still has a problem that a lot of Mid Fire rate autos have... it's out gunned by nearly everything else. Even with Front Lines active unless you get the drop on someone, you'll get taken out by a shotgun or a quick scope point blank sniper.
So while I love the new and improved Fabian, it's going to stay as my PvE rifle.

nice for pve and pvp now. highly recommended but underrated

I was about to make a post just like this, until I saw yours. Definitely my new go to exotic. Fits my play style to a T. Even more excited to keep usin this beast in ROI!!

I haven't played destiny once since July, (got addicted to cod bo3 zombies), now that fabian has gotten to a usable spot i kinda wanna try it again. Now that i think about i lied, played once two weeks ago to get nothing manacles from xur

Ive been having good experiances with it in PvP... Youre right, that recoil pattern is very tricky to your average shooter..

I bet this is the thread cozmo replies to. A nice pat on the back thread. But none of the threads voicing game breaking concerns over the weapons patch.

It's basically a primary Super Good Advice.

It's beautiful! On the Darkblade strike, when the thrawls storm the bridge right before the boss fight, it is the most satisfying thing ever to line them up and just unload Fabian Strategy.
-
After it got buffed I got my Fabian from the blueprint wall and took it into the daily story. This is what happened.
-
You just made me think that I should give the Fabian another chance. I haven't played Destiny at all since thursday (blame on Mad Max and The Crew). Looks pretty good now with the range, stability and ammo refill buff.

I'll have a video up on Monday showing this. In PVP I feel the fabien is a beast. If you can rope in that recoil pattern you will melt people. There where times I felt dirty with how good and quick that kill was. I wanna get a team together. 6 Fabian Strategies in Crota's End. Adds for days.

You can run the linear compensator and easily control it, so the extra impact helps its TTK more than any other mid AR other than the Aggressive Ballistics Monte (if you can control it). The only issue with the gun now I was running into was ammo in general but then again ammo wasn't dropping at all for me. Really great for dealing with trash mobs but Zhalo slightly beats it for the super energy bonus but Fabian is good for survival.

As I say every time, the Tlaloc is actually quite meh in PvP. I don't know why, but the fact that nobody really uses it is evidence enough.
-
I just about creamed myself while playing with it. Loved it before but knew it needed some love but at 335 light, its a beast. Just eats enemies. Certainly my new preferred exotic, although Trespasser or Telesto are still favourites. 😉

Fabian feels exotic now.

Totally agree. It's amazing as a pve weapon. In pvp, it'd just an ordinary mid-impact auto that suffers against those that have better advantages. You can do well with it, but takes lots of practice and playing cat and mouse with people
-
Yep it's pretty awesome now.
-
It's great now. Before it felt like any other autorifle. I used it a bit in crucible today and was able to get out of some tight situations with it. I might just keep it as a pve weapon for fear of a nerf.

Had fun using mine today running strikes

Prob the new tom for oryx

Ty for the review. I look forward to bushing the dust off mine and giving it a whirl
