Hey, it's me again with another Honest Opinions! Remember, this is just an opinion. I'd like it if you would read the whole post before you would start commenting stupid things. So a lot of you think Shoulder Charge is OP, or overpowered. I'll try to prove you wrong. Try.
We can place the so-called Shoulder-Haters in a couple of categories.
1. The Titan-Hater
People who are generally against Titans. These are the people who you will see saying things like Please remove Titans from the game. I think that we can ignore them on this subject.
2. The Rage-Complainer
People who were just killed by Shoulder Charge, and are complaining about the fact that they got killed. I can understand that, since it's a rather unpleasant (a knee to the face doesn't quite make someone happy) way of dying. We can ignore them as well as they are obviously not thinking with a clear mindset.
3. The (Non-)Experienced PvP'er
People who are angry because of the Shoulder Charge mecanic. I will be talking to them mostly.
So what makes Shoulder Charge overpowered?
1. The damage
Shoulder Charge is almost always a one hit kill (OHK), unless you are running max armor or you are a Warlock with The Ram (exotic helmet) equipped. This is indeed frustrating, but imagine if it wasn't. There you are, right in front of an enemy, probably weak because you just rushed that enemy. Not very interesting, huh?
2. The agility
Again, shouldn't you be able to turn whilst running? Yes, maybe not 90 degrees. This could use a slight decrease, I agree. A SLIGHT decrease.
3. The 'tracking'
That should stay, it's mostly out of practical reasons. And how often did you already miss a Charge? Don't complain about Shoulder Charge if it's actually lag.
4. The cooldown
Very interesting point, I'll be telling you something about that now. Prepare for a long read.
The Shoulder Charge Cooldown.
Most people think that Shoulder Charge is overpowered because it's actually infinite, it has no cooldown. Let me tell you something, just to get things straight.
What is the Striker subclass all about? Let me give you the flavor text, that little thing that describes the whole subclass.
At close quarters a fist is better than any gun.
Indeed, Striker is all about kicking and punching people. That's why Shoulder Charge has no cooldown. DON'T POST YET, let me continue.
What is Defender all about? Again, I'll quote something.
The wall against which the Darkness breaks.
This one is all about defending, and supporting the team. That's why your Force Barrier will continually recharge (Unbreakable), and heavy weapon kills generate orbs. No cooldown?
What is Sunbreaker all about?
Forge the fury of undying suns.
It's all about forging stuff. That's why your health regenerates when you take people down with your fire, along with many more benefits. Cooldown because of the abilities.
What is Gunslinger all about?
A lone wolf who lives for the perfect shot.
All about shooting perfectly. That's why killing people with precision will take you into a trance that will grant you even more precision. No cooldown, it even stacks.
What is Bladedancer all about?
Beautiful lethality, relentless style.
This one's flavor text is pretty worthless, except it sounds cool and it's about lethality. But you can become invisible as much as you want, along with many more asassin abilities. Again, no cooldown.
What is Nightstalker all about?
Draw from the Void. Light the way.
Especially light the way. A Nightstalker is an explorer, a guide, a hunter. You help people to get trough the wild. That's why you have Keen Scout, to help you read the terrain. No cooldown.
What is Voidwalker all about?
Those who have stared into the Void are not bound by the laws of space and time.
That's why you will drain enemies from their energy. Cooldown, although it's just because it involves abilities.
What is Sunsinger all about?
There are flames that even the Darkness cannot extinguish.
It's about fire an supporting your team. That's why you can hang still in the air. No cooldown. Still not a good ability.
What is Stormcaller all about?
Harmony within, hurricane without.
It's all about hurricanes. Pretty worthless flavor text. But. If you get critically wounded, you get a speed boost, and if you get melee'd, your melee gets fully charged, making it having... wait for it... No cooldown.
You get the point. Every subclass has such an ability, although Sunsingers did got screwed over. So the no-cooldown-rant, I think that's pretty fair.
Conclusion
Shoulder Charge is not overpowered at all. The so-called broken tracking is 90% of the time just lag. I explained the cooldown thingy. Only a small agility nerf could be justified, in my opinion. In my opinion.
Go ahead, check my profile and start a rant about my Warlock and K/D ratio. I know you want to.
So a lot of you say I want Shoulder Charge nerfed by agility. I said it could use it. It doesn't need it. Very big difference.

Edited by AggressiveBacon: 9/4/2016 8:50:19 PMMy thoughts on shoulder charge Here's my backstory, with all of the classes Warlocks I've been a warlock since beta, a sunsinger since level 15, and never looked back. I don't really have much against either of the other subclasses, sunsinger just fits me better. Hunters I actually debated whether to be a hunter or warlock originally, but decided that hunters were too squishy and I hated the jump. I actually do the best in crucible with my hunter, and I will admit that they are frabulous I'm mainly a bladedancer, but am working on maxing out nightstalker currently, I like both but bladedancer is my favorite. Titan This is the one that actually matters here, I've been a defender since the beginning, and hardly a striker at all, but I do have it maxed. I'm debating whether to switch to sunbreaker. thoughts on shoulder charge I think that it is completely unbalanced in the way that it is the only extra ability that is a OHK, and it has virtually no cooldown, but I see where titans are coming from, you can't lower the damage, because then its useless. I don't want strikers to suffer the same fate as sunsingers . I think that they should increase the damage slightly to prevent the (not so)rare occurrence where they survive with like 2 HP, but they need to reduce the auto aim quite a bit AND make it require you to actually sprint for more than 1/2 second for it to charge OR make it require a Melee charge. Anyways, that's my opinion, what's yours?
