Been using a hidden hand longbow with ambush scope for quite a while and today I got my Stillpiercer. decided to give it a go in Crucible skirmish and I am amazed. I'm not good with snipers overall and with Longbow I probaly got 1 kill for every 5 shots or so in PvP, however the Stillpiercer completely turned that around for me. Not only did I love the scope of the Stillpiercer it felt amazing using it, but I actually managed to be decent with sniper. With the stillpiercer/jaderabbit in skirmish match I ended up with a 2kd 18kills where about half of the kills was sniper kills, getting one sniper kill for every 2 shots in average, more than doubling my sniper skills. I honestly think the Stillpiercer is the best sniper right now in my opinion for me. I've never been good with snipers but I actually did some sick headshots with Stillpiercer. Considering changing my main to Hunter.
STILLPIERCER U ROCK! I LOVE U!

I'm not great at sniping, mostly when an opportunity arises, but it's better radar resolution is just super useful.

The 1000-Yard Stare on your Warlock is almost certainly better. ShortGaze, Eye of the Storm and Quick Draw make it pretty great. Really, the only thing Stillpiercer has going for it is the ridiculous ammo reserves. You spawn in with like, 12 rounds when you wear double sniper armor. It's aim assist and zoom would be comparable to your Stare. The Longbow you described isn't that great. Ambush takes away more aim assist than Hidden Hand adds. Unless your middle tree perks were amazing, there really isn't anything special about it. That and Longbow has terrible ammo reserves for some stupid reason. But, if you're happy, I'm happy for you.

It's good but outshined by others in its class, stock perks ain't the best either

Stillpiercer is super underrated. One of my favorites

I'm not the biggest fan of it but some people live by the weapon.
