The Road To Dawn
Book One: Morning Crimson
Chapter Three: How The Dark Beckons
As a child growing up in the golden age, I always found myself looking towards the stars, towards the traveler. The comforting glow always hung over me. But even after leaving my mark, It wasn’t enough. My wild curiosity took hold, but it was too late. The heavens descended on us all, and left the remnants of life as our consolation. Ships fell from the sky, the single thread connecting us to what hung above, was cut. My time, our time, was done. Though, not just yet.
“Wake up, rise like the dawn, for it needs your light.” The voice shook my being, my purpose wasn’t gone anymore. The life was gifted to me by the last breath of a dead being. Its last wish, shall call me to shine like the stars I gazed upon.
Ever since I woke up in the remnants of Old Ohio, I looked back up to the sky with the same wonder in my eye as before. This time I knew though, My hands will feel the stars in the sky. But, something else more tempting beckoned me. What hides in the shadows of the stars?
That day I knew, I would be the phantom that lurked the shadows of the stars, leaving no corner untouched. The only mystery that would go unknown is me, and I will keep it that way. The Traveler gave me its light for a reason, to filter out the dark. I shall be the catalyst of its last dream of the dawn.
“Are you sure going past Mars will end up so well? If we meet the awoken without a reason to back us, our light will be extinguished.” Said Omicron.
“The Queen could never say no to me. It hasn’t stopped me before.” The courageous smirk on my face proved my ideal. Only a fool will deny me my dream.
