A Hive Tombship cut into the above space and Hive poured out of the far doorway. Phantom and Avesk gunned down the charging Knights and blew up the glowing thrall as they slowly approaches. They continued through the aft doorway and approached the door to the Chamber. "Wait." Avesk's Ghost called. "I'm detecting a faint trace of Light inside, but it's not from a Guardian. I wonder.." The Ghost trailed off uncertainly. "What is is Barry?" Avesk asked. "We need to get into that chamber." Barry affirmed. He flew up to the door, firing a beam from his eye and unlocking the door. The door opened and the two stepped inside only to find the chamber void of any life. "It's empty.." Barry commented, "but.. how..?" Suddenly, Hive screeches cut off the Ghost's train of thought. "Uh oh." Barry said and disappeared. The door on the far side of the chamber opened, letting loose a torrent of Hive- a force too large to fight. Phantom backed up as the wave of Thrall approached. "I don't know what they're worked up about, but we need to run!" They took off through the door on their right ignoring all other Hive as they rushed past them. "Phantom, where are you going?" Avesk asked as they ran. "Anywhere that's not here." Phantom replied. "I'm detecting a couple of Guardians up ahead." Barry stated. "It looks like they could use some help." "So could we.." Avesk grumbled under his breath. "All the more reason to meet up with them then." Phantom replied. The two Hunters entered the Circle of bone, killing and evading the Hive ahead. They narrowly dodged a swing from a Knight and slid into a circular room, with a massive chain in the center. Inside of a Defender bubble were Validus and Patriot. / Patriot immediately took control of the situation. "Validus, I want you covering the doorway on your left, use your Fist of Havoc if you start to get overwhelmed. You." Patriot pointed at Avesk. "You stick back here with me, use your Arc Blade to clear out the Sword Knights, other Hunter, you're going to watch the door opposite of Validus. Got it?" The other three Guardians nodded. Then, as the Ward of Dawn dissipated, they all sprang into action. Hive Tombships rested outside dropping off wave after wave of troops while Knights and Thrall poured from the two doorways. It was big struggle, with the Guardians dying several times, being continuously revived by their teammates. Suddenly, the last door opened. Two more Hunters ran into the room pursued by a mob of several ogres. The scrambled behind cover while their Ghosts worked to seal the door. Right before the Ogres entered the room, the door closed, effectively shutting the Hive beasts out. "So.." Joden started, "any idea how we're going to get out of this?" "If we can summon our ships, we might be able to perform a short-range transmat and get out of here." Patriot replied. "Sounds like a plan." Joden replied. "So, all we need to do is stay alive until our ships get here?" Avesk asked. "Yup." Patriot answered. "Cake." / Together, the six Guardians defended their position from an onslaught of Hive. Powers of light and dark clashed in an epic battle for survival. Rockets and wizard blasts traded places in the air, and machine gun fire echoed with the sounds of Shredders and Boomers returning fire. Burning shield of dark defending agains radiant bullets of gold. Tombships appeared and disappeared to drop of troop. Suddenly, a missile rocked one of the Tombships sending it spiraling down into the abyss. Four Guardian ships descended into the Hellmouth. Guardian whoops and cheers echoed in the catacombs of the moon. A moment later, the six Guardians disappeared, and the ships took off, heading for Earth. They had made it.
