We are actively investigating player reports regarding recent TAPIR Errors received by players on all platforms. We have identified the cause of this issue and are working diligently to reach a resolution.
This thread will be updated with new information as it becomes available. If you have encountered this issue, please Comment in this thread with your PSN ID/ Xbox Gamertag, as well as exactly which console you have received this error on.

I just tried to start playing again a few days ago. Got the tapir error, and haven't been able to play. Maybe my long dormancy caused the problem.

I looked up the definition of the word... ta·pir (tāpər) noun a nocturnal hoofed mammal with a stout body, sturdy limbs, and a short flexible proboscis, native to the forests of tropical America and Malaysia. Then I dug a little deeper and found the following comment: [i]"Zoo visitors often ask, "What is it? A pig? An anteater?" No, it's a tapir, a primitive animal that has remained unchanged for millions of years."[/i] Hopefully the error fix does not take as long as genetic changes to the species after which it is named.

I'm getting the "tapir" error code. I just upgraded from an Xbox 360 to an Xbox one and purchased the Taken King for Xbox one. I have not been able to launch Destiny and play because of this error. My gamer tag is SigRanger516. This is very frustrating because the only reason I upgraded was to play this game.

1 ReplyBungie- It has been a for me. I'm glad to see everyone having fun this weekend but I was not. I have been a loyal fan of Destiny from day one. But this is a slap in the face to me I moved from PS3 to PS4 and the first game I bought for it was destiny. But I have been unable to play to to this error thats been going on for a week for me. So lets see in that time I have beaten Fallout 4 twice. And played a few other games but I have been unable to play one of my favorites Destiny.
