Here's the problem - by eradicating all progress, Bungie would make all progress pointless. Why enter, grind, progress, only to have it wiped without warning?
Part of my reasoning for not raising or pushing too hard on quests in year two is because of the way year one was handled and the reasoning behind nerfs. Bungie shows us stuff, lets us touch it, then takes it away. I played end game content religiously year one. After TTK dropped and it was obvious that time wasn't valued, I refused to invest more than cursory time.
That's taking your advice I suppose, but it isn't what Bungie intended, do you think?
