bring character and/or subclasses into Destiny 2? Sure, but I want all new gear and all new weapons, no bringing forward old stuff (as much as they can at least). I don't want to be using the same stuff for ten years.

 •
I don't want to be using the same stuff for ten years.
Then don't. Use the new stuff introduced into Destiny 2. But just because you don't want to use older gear, just because you don't want to use the same weapons/armor for ten years, just because you don't like those things, everyone should have to align to your desires? Arrogant much? How does it hurt you or your play of the game for someone else to be happy with the equipment that they currently have? How does it hurt you or your play of the game if someone else does want to use the same gear for ten years?

 • It's not about being arrogant, it's about wanting the franchise to evolve over ten years, if the same weapons and gear stay in it, then the game will continue to have to be balanced around the likes of the last word, thorn, suros regime, hawksaw, and mida instead of allowing new weapon balances and combat changes. Sure keeping your stuff sounds awesome, because you've already spent hours farming for that exact roll on a weapon that makes you unstoppable. But if you bring all that forward it reduces the amount of new content that can come in due to having to balance around the old, there is no real incentive to keep playing/complete new stuff to earn gear since you already have god rolls on everything, everyone continues to use the same five guns as everyone else, and the gameplay begins to get stale. The reason Division failed (or is failing depending on how you view it) is due to everyone rolling the same setup as everyone else and lack of new interesting content/real reason to run new content as your old stuff was already better anyway. How selfish do you have to be to want to hold the franchise and community back because you don't want to have to earn good gear in the sequel? The stuff you have now is great and still works fine in Destiny 1, not bringing that gear forward doesn't somehow lessen the memories and times spent using them. It's the same bullshit argument that people use about VoG gear. It served a purpose, made you love the gear, and enabled you to do well. But going into fresh new content with endgame level equipment? How much staler and pointless do you want the game to be? The new gear won't be inherently worse, new stuff always reveals new gems that you can fall in love with. Sorry if it sounds arrogant to want everyone to enjoy new experiences and make new memories rather than burying their heads in the sand and living in the past.

 • Its been 3 years and they've made 0 evolutionary progress at all. Your point is irrelevant.

 •
....if the same weapons and gear stay in it, then the game will continue to have to be balanced around the likes of the last word, thorn, suros regime, hawksaw, and mida instead of allowing new weapon balances and combat changes.
So basically, only PvP matters, screw the rest, we must put PvP first even though it was meant to just be a side show. Got it, thanks.
The reason Division failed (or is failing depending on how you view it) is due to everyone rolling the same setup as everyone else and lack of new interesting content/real reason to run new content as your old stuff was already better anyway.
Uh, no. The Division is failing due to MASSIVE cheating and horrible PvP design in the DZ. That is EXACTLY why The Division is failing.
How selfish do you have to be.....
No, no, how selfish do YOU have to be to demand that everyone play the way YOU want them to? I'll grind for new gear, everyone will. Stop chasing this phantom argument that people will stop getting new gear. Don't worry about what I choose to equip or use. Worry about yourself.

 • Ok you are getting on my nerves. You know the problem with the current system is all the good weapons are locked to the highest level and the lvl of those weapons don't matter. Making progression based on this light value rather then your lvl is the problem with this loot based system. If you based the weapons off of lvl and the light was just power lvl and doesn't change then when you increased the lvl cap and add weapons for the higher lvls you will naturally switch to the new weapons and then people would be able to keep favorite weapons while not hindering the balance. Your being the one in the wrong for saying that dictating a person's play style by force is right. There have been many other games that have done this and shown how well it worked well. Bungie chose this way themselves so arguing that balancing the weapons is a nightmare is their fault and problem which should not be passed along to the player.
