I mean, its just a video game. So Destiny 2 comes out and you make new characters and play through multiple expansions like we just did. Really? Life is over? Get out of moms basement.

For the same reasons people get attached to thier favorite sports team or player. The get upset because they've invested emotional time and effort. The gear and stats acquired are a representation of their time spent within the game.
-
Ha ha ya, wrong person for sports. People waste their lives watching over paid trash run on a field. I prefer living life on a Sunday.

Here's the problem - by eradicating all progress, Bungie would make all progress pointless. Why enter, grind, progress, only to have it wiped without warning? Part of my reasoning for not raising or pushing too hard on quests in year two is because of the way year one was handled and the reasoning behind nerfs. Bungie shows us stuff, lets us touch it, then takes it away. I played end game content religiously year one. After TTK dropped and it was obvious that time wasn't valued, I refused to invest more than cursory time. That's taking your advice I suppose, but it isn't what Bungie intended, do you think?
-
Well I guess its a good thing its a video game and I play for fun, not for life functions.
-
Hmmm. For a guy that wants everyone think you don't care, you sure seem to care what others think about your thinking. I think that means you care. Careful! You may care more than you think. I think. You aren't speaking from a position of superiority just because you don't feel the way the OP and others do. You don't value the work you put into characters, good on you. Nothing wrong with it. Others find that a problem. The motivations aren't wrong, they're different. I have no interest in going to great lengths for things I don't get to keep. Simple. There are less entertaining (to me) parts of the game I will endure for rewards that are worthwhile, but if I find those things will be taken without notice, I won't be bothered. That's what motivates me. It's a loot-based game. If the loot will be ripped from you if you use it, what's the point of getting loot?
-
Eh, opinions vary
-
The point of progression is the experiences you have while progressing. It's just a game, you enjoy it for a bit, then move on.
-
You misunderstand. For many this could mean not buying destiny 2 at all.
-
Oh darn. Another game will get the play time. Or kids will grow up and see its just a game and buy it and be happy.
-
Edited by Kone19ps: 9/1/2016 9:26:12 PMWhen and if bungie loses sales because of the decision. "Oh darn" won't be the reaction.
-
Guess its a good thing I don't work for Bungie! And that I'm not emotionally crippled to a video game.
-
Lol you do know the point of this post is to tell bungie we want to carry characters forward to the point it would effect our decision to continue playing right?
-
Ya. Just don't really care if they do. Its a video game. They come and go.
-
-
I completely agree. So many people forget that video games are about the experiences you have in them, not about showing off gear which nobody gives a shit about.
-
Except the fact that it's an mmo-esque styled game. Character progression and continuation is a huge thing in these types of games so they certainly should bring these charactersites ando items forward. At the very least, vanity items like shaders, emblems, ships and sparrows need to be brought forward.
-
Has nothing to do with showing off. The time I committed to destiny has the caveat that it would be respected. It wasn't and if it isn't again then many won't get destiny 2 including me. Many were sold on create your own legend over 10 years. Not 3-4 different legends
-
I have to say that I am completely saddened and astonished that the word "Respect" would come into play towards a video game company and how they make their games with concerns to you or anyone else. Ya, it is cool that they build and create an awesome story line and try to allow a player to progress multiple times with the same character. But my god man, it is JUST a video game!!! Has society really become that stuck on itself in thinking they are entitled to EVERYTHING?? Leave the participation trophy's for kindergarten. I get what was supposedly "sold" to people, I was there. But things change. Such as life....that thing that is supposed to be far more important than a video game.
-
Edited by Kone19ps: 9/2/2016 12:03:02 PMEntitled has nothing to do with it. They don't respect my time they don't get my money. It's pretty basic capitalism. If I buy a game a expect it to be a fulfilling experience. And I expect not to be lied to which bungie and many other companies have done and lost my business for it
-
Then they don't get your money. Plan and simple. If you need to turn it into some "they lied to me" cry fest, cool. So sad, its a company. They have no idea what 10 years down the road will hold. But ya, hold some puppet at the company doing PR that said something about a video game accountable for the entire future of the company and video game. I mean, isn't there FAR more important things in actual, real, life that should matter more maybe? DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS, AND MOVE ON.
-
Edited by Kone19ps: 9/2/2016 12:14:44 PMSo basically you just don't want to hear people give bungie feedback on what will keep their business. That's fine. Then leave feedback
-
So basically you are not understanding much of what is typed. That's fine. But please read my feedback when you can.
-
I do understand you're saying chill out its a video game. I'm saying I am chill I have no qualms about moving on. I've laid down my conditions to stay. They aren't met and I'll move on. ff15 comes out soon I have plenty to play. You're the one assuming I'm throwing a tantrum on my keyboard for some reason
-
Ya, I know. I was finding it entertaining. This is the internet, and forums. No reason to follow guidelines or be serious. More fun to just stir the pot. But seriously now, FF15? I find it so boring. Have they changed it so you don't just walk up to the enemy, hit them once, register your damage, and walk back?
-
.....lmao ok touché. But yah it's real time now. More complex than kingdom hearts but similar
