It's time to buff primary weapons. They need to be the best weapons in the game, at this point in the game primaries have been nerfed so many times that you'll be better off running around with a shotgun all game.
Hand canons and auto rifles don't have enough range to challenge any snipers. Weapons (minus hand canons) can't kill fast enough to counter shotgunners (especially in a meta where thunder strike/juggernaut/force barrier are very common). In the next patch some things need to be done about primaries. NO MORE NERFS. We are done with those.
-give hand canons back the accuracy they had before 2.0
-give pulse rifles back their damage they had before 2.0
-give auto rifles back their damage they had in vanilla
-scouts may stay the same, they were always inferior to hand hand canons except at long distance.
Bump if you agree.
Edit: here is what I predict will be nerfed because we all know the word "buff" is not in bungie's dictionary.
-Grasp of Malik archetype damage nerfed to 19 headshot, less range
-Medium impact hand canons bloom mechanic intensified, they're being used too much
-increased control will not provide Titans with significant lateral movement speed anymore, Titans were never meant to be so fast, it's not how we want you to play the game
-blink strike lunge distance nerfed, we find blade dancer had increased usage since the last patch
-the hawksaw archetype of pulse rifles will be removed, all weapons in this archetype will be transformed into the slightly slower firing archetype (nirwens). We thought it wasn't fair that nirwens took the same amount of shots to kill as the hawksaw, but shot slower.
........
Add to the list of things Bungie will nerf

Only legendary hand cannons should have the range they had before 2.0, remove the accuracy buff on last word that it got from the last patch, and keep thorn as is. Auto rifle sounds fine, stop making them into this retarded "close range menace" nonsense they want them to be so bad, autos will never be good at close range, and since they cant ever be they are never in optimal range. Do not give pulse's their damage back before 2.0, keep it as it is now, they're so balanced now. Give scouts more ammo in the magazine and buff medium rate of fire damage to make any combination of 4 shots to on some one to kill (aka make 4 body shots kill or 3 bodies and 1 head, etc). Nerf faster rate of fire scouts, killing in the same head shots as medium rate of fire ones makes medium rof ones pointless. Make high impact scouts able to 2 shot with low armor.

I'd go further and target certain weapons that had their exotic/legendary perks changed. I disagree on your change to the archetypes (specifically the Hawksaw one as I see no game breaking quality) but bringing but the arch types like HSP/Messenger and not reducing damage across the board to compensate would be better. Personally, I don't see why Bungie remove the increased damage from the hip on TLW. What made it broken was the glitch of ADS, and that is gone. Bring back the damage on the exotic perk and keep the weapon the same. 2 tapping in CQC takes good hip fire aim and isn't game breaking. Consistency for the weapon types needs to be well... consistent? It's weird how only certain archetype of guns (looking at Hawksaw types) can thrive in one meta, but be destroyed the next because another archetype in the same gun type is better at the time.

I have no idea how the enemy has managed to destroy its way to Earth's last city and are being held off with our guns. What a cosmic joke...

Can't buff hand cannons with the Thorn is making a return as it will rule PvP again and be will be nerffed in to the ground!!

Edited by Snake: 8/28/2016 4:19:30 PMthe thing is, it may be good thing to keep PvP at around a 1.0kd ratio for each weapon, but in PvE it makes killing enemies take more ammo and with the decrease in overall ammo held and the bullet sponge boss fights it is killing the PvE side of the game. the ratio for kills should be closer to (based on rate of fire and weapon base): primaries - 0.75 kd to 1.5 kd depending on weapon type, the highest being autos then pulse then scout then hand cannon. specials - 0.5 kd to 0.7 kd depending on weapon type shotgun then fusion rifle then sniper. heavies - 0.5 kd to 0.7 kd machien gun then rocket launcher then sword. this would keep the weapon ballance better for everyone not just for the sniper players.
-
There is a reason why the secondary weapons are called "special" because they are better
-
Agreed, well said. However I think pulse rifles are strong enough right now
-
-
You can't keep buffing weapons, if they did that then hand cannons would kill you in 2 shots and pulse rifles in 2 bursts, by the time you get out of cover and back your dead. Weapons need to be balanced I agree but you need a fighting chance
-
You nerf increased control on Titan and they literally won't be able to jump anymore.

Edited by Dooodley: 8/28/2016 11:26:49 AMGranted that some primary archetypes need buffs in relation to eachother but I'm against a general buff that will shorten TTK. This game lacks the maps, spawn mechanics and strategies to be a "who sees who first" game - it would basically be the special meta on any weapon and at any range. Do you really want to consistently get shot in the back and die because someone came around that one corner 0.2 seconds ago and you had literally no chance to turn and respond? I don't. Hence, the only solution is to almost get rid of special ammo entirely and work on better maps for Destiny 2. Maps where the teams natually will set up instead of just randomely running arond the map all match or sitting at the end of that one sniper lane.
-
I don't think so. That'll make scouts underpowered
-
You do realize hat without buffs, Hand Cannons would still be doing no damage, have absolutely nor range, and would have 6 bullet clips? Or Pulse Rifles would take 4-5 burst kills with no stability? Bungie has given buffs. Now stop with this blinded mentality and learn what the word balance means.

this community has to understand that there is always going to be something that out shines the other weapons.

Yes a buff post! 👍😄
-
Aren't you supposed to use your special when you can? Isn't that why it has limited ammo in comparison to primaries which have basically infinite? If we make primaries 'the best in the game' what purpose would there be to use Machine Guns or Special Weapons?
-
Well maybe they should nerf ONE more gun before they start buffing, I'm looking at you last "no skill" word.
-
Signed
-
I just want to throw the whole "titans shouldn't be so fast" thing out the window especially when warlocks can have more armor.
-
We need an exotic handcannon with no recoil. Fast fire rate and less impact. Ps dont say the last word.
-
Def agree every gun would have an equal opportunity to kill not just one danm class
-
or a the very least start buffing instead of nerfing
