It's time to buff primary weapons. They need to be the best weapons in the game, at this point in the game primaries have been nerfed so many times that you'll be better off running around with a shotgun all game.
Hand canons and auto rifles don't have enough range to challenge any snipers. Weapons (minus hand canons) can't kill fast enough to counter shotgunners (especially in a meta where thunder strike/juggernaut/force barrier are very common). In the next patch some things need to be done about primaries. NO MORE NERFS. We are done with those.

Edit: here is what I predict will be nerfed because we all know the word "buff" is not in bungie's dictionary.
-Grasp of Malik archetype damage nerfed to 19 headshot, less range
-Medium impact hand canons bloom mechanic intensified, they're being used too much
-increased control will not provide Titans with significant lateral movement speed anymore, Titans were never meant to be so fast, it's not how we want you to play the game
-blink strike lunge distance nerfed, we find blade dancer had increased usage since the last patch
-the hawksaw archetype of pulse rifles will be removed, all weapons in this archetype will be transformed into the slightly slower firing archetype (nirwens). We thought it wasn't fair that nirwens took the same amount of shots to kill as the hawksaw, but shot slower.

We're walking a fine line between reliable weapons vs point to kill weapons. Yes all shots from a hand cannon should register(speaking on the accuracy) but I would rather have every weapon collectively be weaker than to buff everything to the point that TTK is at yr 1 TLW tier. As for primaries vs specials you just have to be smart and aware. Obviously you're not going to win a hand cannon vs shotgun battle if you're charging at your opponent. Ultimately yes some buffs are needed but imo buffs/nerfs just produce problems with other weapons.

Yeah, some buffing needs done. Every type of weapon has 1 archetype that stands above the rest. That shouldn't be.

I think it should go like this. Remove the bloom from handcannons, and edge up their range a bit. Close to medium range is fine, well and dandy until you consider that they fail on their intended placement. Autos across the board should edge up their damage. They operate the way they're intended, but need a bit of a buff to kinda smooth things over. I'm talking about like... a point or two more damage, nothing extreme. Pulse rifles need to have more defined archetypes. Bring back the Y1 archetypes. Low RoF/high impact like the messenger or Y1 Red death. Two bursts to the head. Low-Medium RoF/High-Medium impact like nirwins mercy or final duty. Two burst with crowd control or reactive reload, 3 under all other circumstances. High-medium/Low-medium impact like the SUROS PDX-45 or Hawksaw, 3 bursts, no change to it. High RoF/low Impact, grasp of Malak, and, for those who remember, oversoul Edict. 3 to 4 burst. Scouts could use a little change, maybe to stability? Mag size? All I know is that they should put MIDA into its real category.

And nerf Stormcaller melee and damage by a little so it takes four hits instead of three

Agreed. If Bungie doesn't want to reduce the special ammo spawn, or change the way special ammo is given out, then special and primary need to be rebalanced. Crucible isn't fun anymore. Just a bunch of shotguns.

If those nerfs happen in going to kill the weapon designers and take their place Seriously no more nerfs, BUFF INSTEAD Who cares if the game gets too "uncontrollable"? That's how we like it here in destiny

There's still too much of an abundance of special ammo and nothing will change until they take spawning with it off and reduce the frequency of the drops. People who aren't using primaries are doing so not because they're bad weapons, but because this game's PvP rewards people for ignoring them.

Add to the list of things Bungie will nerf[/quote] Removing hawksaw archetype is dumb. It will basically kill the Bad Juju. Here's a solution. Since Nirwens is the same archetype of Red Death. Just make the archetype a two burst.
