I truly believe that this whole red bar and lag situation associated with Destiny is exaggerated.
I think a vast majority of the playerbase are using every excuse under the sun before they will ever accept and admit that they got outplayed in every gunfight that results in their death.

I agree, I play at the higher level that supposedly has he most red bar and I experience it maybe 1 in 7 matches and 1 in 20 matches it actually affects the gameplay.

It's both. The lag is real for many people for a variety of reasons. As is exaggeration. I play with one guy that complains every time he gets killed that he's being one shot by mida or doctrin but is equally untalented in pve. Or another guy I play with from Canada who has a horrible connection (always red bars) but some times get tons of kills or sometimes can't kill or damage a damn thing. He'll I have good Internet and can't do damage to other green bars all the time. It's a frigging roller coaster and it does get frustrating.

Other than that people jitterbug and just teleporting is common also. It's not some myth. Though I'm not saying it's the norm it's typically one player in the match.

That might be somewhat true but the lag is real. I think it's easy to distinguish between somebody who outplayed you and somebody who is invincible, runs into or wall or phasing all over the screen.

I feel the same. That was up until this last ib. I never red bar and I was constantly going red. I have never been booted mid game this ib it happened twice that damn baboon. It was so bad that I just got my Hunter to 5. Titan got to 2 and warlock 0. I had people blade dancing through walls. I got sniped by someone through 3 walls. I killed a titan just to be killed by his hulk smash. Pretty funny to see a limp titan and then boom I'm dead.

Maybe. All I know is the lag is real. If you don't experience it, that's great for you. Every second game tonight was a farce with at least 2 players that constantly disappeared only to re-appear 20 yards away. All my random team mates left, and I don't blame them, it was unplayable, so why bother? I love a good sweaty game of crucible, but it's a joke at times. I'd nearly have a collection and buy Bungie dedicated servers myself.
