Thats why they invented Powerline adapters Did you even read the post?
If you can't directly Hard wire your console to your router then there are other solutions like Power-line Adapters. https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-TL-PA511KIT-Gigabit-Powerline-Adapter/dp/B005FVOKM8 These come in various forms but connect Ethernet cables over your house power grid. Clever, eh?
PowerLine adapters are still a bit iffy. My friend has tried a few. Some work well, some are okay, others not at all.

I have a 4 node powerline network connecting my Xbox360, PS3 and my Blu-ray and I haven't had any issues. Guess it depends on your houses power cables, and what state they are in.

http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/TL-PA8010P-KIT.html is the ones I use. I only recommend what I would use. I research the shit out of stuff like this. Just make sure it will work with your houses power grid before you buy though, they can be relatively expensive items. Email customer support if you don't live in the UK. Also make sure you plug the adapter directly into the wall. They don't work if they are plugged into a 4 way extension socket or a surge protector.
