So, I had an idea at work today about playing some private matches together competitively:
What if, we designed a pvp game type that was essentially an objective-based elimination game like Trials + Rift. Basically, for lack of a better metaphor its a relay race to capture the flag. Its a 6v6 game mode, where there are two runners (one from each team) and five gunners. The goal is to capture the relic, get your runner inside enemy territory and plant your flag.
Runners & Gunners are not identified up front. That means until the flag is captured, a runner isn't identified. It also means that anybody can be targeted and eliminated from play at any stage. If you die while the runner has the flag, you're eliminated from play. On the third round, there's no heavy, but instead a random modifier is applied (if this is something we can do). Otherwise, trials rules apply. No special on weapon swap. Deaths eliminate you from play. Best of 5 rounds.
What do you think? Would you play?
