As I was making this video about the tides, and how "gravitation" is not what causes tidal effects, I realized something. The Traveler is massive and yet it produces no gravity as far as we know. Something that large hovering above the round earth should create some kind of gravitational pull if you accept mainstream round earth physics. But to all appearances, the Traveler does not have any noticeable effect on gravity. Kind of curious huh? It makes me wonder if Bungie is at least open minded when it comes to the Flat/round earth controversy.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you're a whack job.
-
If you haven't noticed, the Traveler has not crashed into the Earth. It hovers at a fixed point. This means the Traveler has the technology to negate gravitational fields around it. Humanity also had access to this tech once if you look at the Empyrean Bellicose. The helmet allows you to hover in air, negating gravitational fields. That tech used to hold the floating gardens of Pomona Mons aloft. Your argument is flawed because you refuse to believe in tried and tested facts.
-
OR the Traveler is mostly hollow. An objects gravitational pull is based off it's mass, not it's size.
-
I will dislike and report every single post like this you make until you stop talking about flat earth on these forums. You trigger my PTSD from living with a flat earther for a year, and I want these posts to stop.

An ultra advanced, billions of years old mechanical moon capable of granting paracausal abilities to whomever it chooses doing something we cant scientifically explain? Not that surprising tbh Better question: why is there gravity on the moon?
because its made of cheese

HAIL LORD WALLACE
Show Spoiler
nerf fusion rifles
Might be wrong, but the traveler wouldn't produce any gravity, unless he was spinning or had a spinning core ?
-
I hope you get banned, your annoying

Gravity isn't based on size though, it's based on mass. The traveller is hollow, so would have (I would assume) very little mass.

Edited by ELIBRIUS: 8/25/2016 12:17:15 PMBecause the relative size of an object isn't what dictates it gravitational pull, it's the mass and density of it, since from what we can tell the traveller is some sort of machine meaning that under its surface it isn't as dense as ground and dirt and such meaning it will have a lot less mass which in turn dictates how much gravity it would have, it is theoretically possible for a celestial body smaller than earth to have a higher gravity because it has a much higher density with more mass therefore increasing its gravitational influence, but in the travelers case it would be safe to assume that even given its size it wouldnt have enough mass to have a noticeable effect , even if it did have more mass it would still have to compete with earths own gravity which means it would have to have close to or more than roughly 9metres per second(earths gravity) to even make a minuscule effect on the area and objects around it

I think the real problem is that people don't accept that the Moon is flat. Which it is.
-
I thought you were going to say it was flat...like the earth. Dissapointed.

Ha. Clever.

Edited by Inb4ban: 8/25/2016 11:24:11 AMThere isn't a controversy. One, the traveler is as machine orginasim, with its own mind and extreme powers. I'm sure that a giant ball that terra forms worlds can eliminate its gravitational field. Also, people that believe that the earth is flat are more ignorant than little children for believing a hundreds year old philosophy probably have an IQ similar to those people did, which was probably around 50. Also, after hundreds of years of air and water travel, why haven't we found an edge yet? The only way a flat earth could exist is if the earth was shaped ore like a bowl with gravity pulling toward the centre, so as you climbed up the edges of the bowl, you would eventually fall back to the centre. So since we don't have corpses flying through the air on a normal basis. There is no flat earth. Soureced from the vsause flat earth video, which you should watch

Edited by ruppettypuppetty: 8/25/2016 11:23:34 AMI muted you, I'm sure of it, oh well, here goes. Congrats, you're my first. P.s there is no controversy.

Look its quite clearly fiction so the laws of physics don't really apply here. Yes I know magic is real and so are dragons but this game depicts Earth as round which is quite clearly not true. So therefore it would not be accurate in any way. We all know the Earth is flat and sits on top of 4 giant elephants backs which stand on top of a giant turtle.

Am I the only one who loves this guy?

Hey Krishna. If the earth is round, why does rain always fall in a straight line?
-
If the earth is flat, what is the sun?
-
What flat/round controversy? World is round not flat. Simple as that.
-
The Fűcq it doesn't, all those damn bullets in crucible keep gravitating at my head.

This guy is the absolute best fisherman on the forums. Holy shit... He catches monster sized fish with his bait. Some dude pulled up math even. Talking about the mass and gravitational pull of the moon. A+ man, A+.

Just out of curiosity..are there religious beliefs behind your ideas and reluctance to accept science? (Something that goes beyond your username I mean)

Edited by xI Hanson Ix: 8/24/2016 11:07:13 PMKrishna what do you think causes the tides? A wobble of the flat earth? Or like breath? Edit. I'll just watch your vid. 2nd edit. A wobble, ok. 3rd. What I find amusing is that the mainstream model accounts for the two tides by saying, 1, the moon's gravity, and 2, the inertial force of the earth and moon moving in tandem. Yet the earth itself is spinning near 1000 mph at the equators surface yet that doesn't displace the land supposedly floating on magma or the water of the oceans towards the equator. Lol, some smart scientists to come up with that theory. I think you should look into why they push this model in the first place, more particularly what heliocentricity has to do with it. Why do they worship the sun? (Anyone other than the op don't expect a reply I'm not getting suckered into all that again...)

Everyone who doesn't go on offtopic, this guy is the biggest troll. Unless he actually believes this stuff, I don't know.

You should grab a go pro and and find the edge. Why don't you do that? All the evidence the world needs is a picture of the edge of the earth. You talk the talk, now go walk the walk. You can blog about it even! I want to see the edge. Think of the glory! Tell the world, let us see it for ouselves. You can vindicate your beliefs, shake the pillars of science and comon knowledge! Be careful though, bring a parachute, and of course a towel. Thanks to the wonder of satellites that may or may not be in geosynchronous orbit you can broadcast your adventure to the world! Frankly your faith based pseudoscience makes my stomach turn, but if you can provide actual proof and not just poor interpretations of fact I'll be converted.
