One Reason I'm Against Rise of Iron Private Matches
With all these resources, you'd think players would be excited to get competitive.
But after a whole year of begrudgingly playing, hoping against hope itself, that you get the perk combination you want... I've realized that Private Matches are just going to emphasize that problem even more.
I think I understand why Luminosity was so concerned with drop rates in this recent interview. He probably realized that, unlike private Destiny tournaments held by Bungie, these tournaments will require him to actually have previously obtained the item he intends to equip during the tournament in-game, instead of spawning it using a cheat pad or whatever tool they developed on private LANs to facilitate that necessity.
I can't say I'm excited to figure out how many people in a bracket have better luck than me. That will likely dictate some of the outcomes too, other than rampant lagswitchers and rapid fire exploits/mods. I'll be surprised if by the end of it someone actually wins who isn't just using all your typical meta items with Best-in-Slot perks.
Please do something about RNG, Bungie. And the cheaters for that matter.
Otherwise private matches/tournaments are going to end up hurting the game.
