Yeah… that's what they've done for EVERY expansion. With every new expansion, the faction gear is the style of the last expansion's Vanguard/Crucible gear. The only exception being Vanilla Destiny. For example, when The Dark Below came out, the faction gear was in the style of Vanilla Destiny's Vanguard/Crucible gear. When The House of Wolves came out, the faction vendors sold armor in the style of The Dark Below's Vanguard and Crucible gear. The Taken King took a little different route. The vendors sold gear in the style of all 3 versions. (Vanilla, TDB, and HoW) It's no surprise whatsoever that for the Rise of Iron, the factions are selling gear in the style of TTK.
