Normally I like Iron Banner...pretty much the only PvP event I bother to participate in. But when crap like this happens, it gets super frustrating.
I start in a match hoping to score a win and hit Rank 4 in Iron Banner. But low and behold...I get put on a team with two other people against an entire full team of 6. And with most of the enemy team running around shotgunning constantly; one guy even had two shotguns (Universal Remote and one in his special weapons slot) soon, the two people I were matched with pretty much gave up.
About 4-5 minutes in, they both proceed to simply just stand there and become free kills to the other team. At around the half way point, a 4th person joined out team but quickly left...I guess because he seen how stomped we were getting.
In the end, I managed to net 18 kills but it was nowhere near enough to get our score close to the enemy team's. To top it all off, for at least attempting to hold my own against an entire team alone, I get 0 rewards while the other two on my team both got two rewards each.
I am trying to give PvP more attention but when stuff like this happens more and more where I get put on the shorted team with players that just give up in the middle of the match...it starts to drive me away from the PvP aspect more and more when I really want to try and keep at it.
I can't be the only person who has had this happen to them before...and not just in an important event like Iron Banner but in regular PvP as well.

Edited by Aulakauss: 8/21/2016 5:11:50 PMThere's a reason I really only play Crucible for Iron Banner or when friends want reinforcements. There's no incentive to play it as opposed to a Strike. I can spend an hour in Vanguard Heroic and fill my inventory and postmaster with engrams, many of them Legendary and usually at least one Exotic. For that same hour in standard Control or Clash, there's a decent chance I'll get one or two Legendaries and there's no reason to even hope for an Exotic as rare as they are to see drop. My performance in a match is completely irrelevant to my chances of getting a reward. Meanwhile, the Crucible forces me to deal with situations that don't but for a rare fluke occur against AI: Jackass player behavior, broken weapons, questionable spawning algorithms, a whole slew of latency-related issues.. and for what? So I can get literally no more reward for doing well, or even winning than if I'd sat in a corner and teabagged? RNG really needs to have weights added based on conditions in the Crucible. Just a few 'off-the-top-of-the-head' ideas: Win Streak Rewards: If you win a certain number of games in a row, you get either a guaranteed Legendary drop with chance of Exotic, or a Crucible package from Shaxx. Best Around Bonus: Place the top of the match on a losing team? You should get a better chance of a good (or hell, any) drop than your teammates. Win the game? You should have a guarantee of getting at least Motes or Coins. Place top of the winning team? Little better chance. The guy or gal who gets a 'The Best.. Around' medal ought to get an assured small amount of Legendary Marks. Say.. ten to fifteen, in addition to the RNG weighting perks above. Mark of the Undeterred: Fight a losing battle to the end when more than 50% of your team has left? That should net you a medal, a little 'I finish my fights, dammit' sort of thing. It doesn't do anything, but it makes you feel a little better about getting your ass kicked. Win the damn thing against the odds? Heavily favorable RNG weighting should be awarded for end-match roll. ..Y'know.. something like those? Those took me less than a minute each to think up, so they might need work, but still..
