It's called "hard wired" and I think it's a lot better than the death magnetic stuff, it's more of the sound they used to have
-
I wasn't that impressed, but I'm going to withhold final judgement until I hear the album version, as well as the entire album when it's released.
-
I liked it sounds a lot more like their earlier stuff, very thrashy. I'm interested to see what the rest of the album is going to be like
-
Yes, it sounds very much like Damage inc and My Apocalypse. I dig it!
-
I prefer lyrics to not be drowned out by an inaudible mess of drums.

Edited by Upperclass Bum: 8/21/2016 11:17:17 AMIt's entirely meh... Sounds more or less like something from Death Magnetic - mind you I actually liked that album... All these older metal bands fall into the same trap when they get to where they are and around the age of 40 and older... I just imagine bands like Metallica, Megadeth, et cetera going to a studio, recording some tracks and at the end of it all, sitting there collectively saying something along the lines of; "yeah, guys, these are some killer tracks. The fans will be sure to dig this." when in reality the fact they're still trying is just sad and whatever they release will be bought out of pity... I still like 'em and I'm not one of those idiots who claims "all music prior to (insert decade here) is garbage", but it's kind of joke at this point.
-
Yes I love it! It's so hard and yes it kinda goes back to their older albums with the sound
-
I dont like it, but I never did like Metallica. That's not to say they are bad, I recognize how good they are. They are just not for me. I know, a music fan having a logical opinion is unheard of these days, but here I am.
-
I don't want a sound that they use to have. I want something exciting, and there is currently no band I've heard of in the genre, Metallica included, that is doing anything relatively creative with the genre. They're making music to make music, you know what happens when a genre tends this way too much? Look at what the country genre use to to be and look at it now. Face it, metal, rock, and alternative are dead genres.
-
Death magnet? That seems like a very useless magnet
-
I saw it played live last night. I was at the concert.
-
They're still alive?
-
Edited by Cultmeister: 8/21/2016 9:25:24 AMEhh Are they going back to their older sound just because they think people will like it, or because they actually think their earlier work was better? Not that I care about Metallica at all tbh. They were a good band when Metal was young, but now there are better bands. Like honestly, Doom and Black Metal is where the real talent is these days. -blam!- Metallica, give me a new Melvins album anyday, and they hail back to the mid 80s so not a much younger band, but honestly they are so much better. Not mainstream enough a sound though so they get forgotten like Saint Vitus, Neurosis or any of those Sludge/Doom pioneers.

Edited by Scornful Orchid: 8/21/2016 4:58:35 AMTrue it's a lot closer to the sound they used to make prior to the Jason whatisface era, but I personally believe Metallica died with Cliff Burton. Sad but True:(

I only listen to rockvaportrapdancepoprockmetaldeathwavecore. It's great, more people should listen to it.
-
Sorry man I've been busy listening to sabaton's new album
-
I heard it and didn't like it.
-
Nope. The only metal I listen to is Thousand Foot Krutch.
-
Not yet
-
Heard it for the first time it was ever on the radio
-
No, is it good?
-
I need to give a listen to it soon
-
The music is okayish buy the lyrics are garbage and definitely not something I expected from them. All together it was pretty meh. But its not St Anger. But its still not great.
-
It's okay. Not the best, but definitely not the worst
-
Yeah, heard it yesterday. I was impressed that they're at least attempting to go back to their roots a bit, but I still found it to be pretty meh. Although I haven't cared for them since And Justice For All..
