Deej was speaking with Destin from IGN and mentioned that details regarding exclusives could be found on the www.destinythegame.com website. After digging around a bit (seriously, it's not clear where to look), I found this page which looks like it's got the info we're looking for. The problem is, every single thing on that page - whether it was introduced in Taken King or is planned for Rise of Iron - is tagged with the single asterisk that at the bottom of the page says "Timed exclusive until at least Fall of 2017." The stuff from Taken King was supposed to be available to Xbox players this fall, I thought? Because on Sony's Destiny page, it mentions "Timed exclusive until at least Fall 2016." Granted, it looks like that needs to be updated because the content on that page also includes Rise of Iron as well as TTK content, but clearly Fall of 2016 was on the timeline at one point.
So you can understand the confusion, right? What's actually exclusive, and for how long? Will TTK stuff become available to Xbox players this fall as expected, or has that been delayed until next year? Can you guys please let us know?
EDIT: Please make sure and respond/upvote so that this topic reaches Deej and Cozmo's attention. Thanks!

Curious..... not sure how the communication within the organization is this bad
-
Timed exclusives are dumb (I think everyone agrees).... It didn't really bother me, we get the content from Y1 at the start of Y2 just all in one drop with TTK( no big deal).... then Y2 same process, same fine print, a year out.... now the communication on this one is.... lacking and confusing, and who knows could be a typo but the bad part is no one is saying anything from Bungie.... can the internal and external communication really be this bad?

This article explains it perfectly. It is confirmed and it does suck.

Edited by Kemosabe508: 8/18/2016 9:22:07 PMFrom a PS player, sorry Xbox players. It's not our fault Bungie and Sony are friends with more than benefits. But in the bright side... Sector 618 can't be a trials map for at least another year.
-
It's kinda sad but I read it as TTK is staying exclusive till fall 2017. Sorry guys as a ps4 guy I think it sucks. There's nothing special about any of our exclusives and you all deserve them this fall.

Edited by Stea1th Vixen: 8/19/2016 12:42:47 AMI have a feeling Bungie won't confirm this because they are worried they will lose preorders and/or Xbox players all together Think about it Xbox players are almost half their player base (think the number is in the high 40s percentile) Honestly keeping silent isn't preventing it either. Especially with articles out on the web

They don't need to confirm it. It's right there on the page. Asterisked items are exclusives until at least 2017. And for the record it might be...and likely is-Sony that is holding them to this.
-
Timed exclusives need to go away. They are heavily anti consumer and leaves the Xbox one players with an unfinished game. I play on both but really feel for the Xbox only players.
-
I can't help but wonder... are the people at Bungie proud of these decisions? If they are not, then I feel like logic would dictate they change those decisions. And if they are, then there's no good reason to refuse to share those reasons. It just strikes me as odd.

Xbox is getting fuçked, again, end of story
-
From a ps player I'm sorry Xbox players. Bungie screwed around with you guys long enough! Enough is enough Bungie!
-
Is this some ploy to get more ps4 sales? Cause i sure as hell ain't gonna shell out $400 for a few exclusives on one game.
-
Fair enough Bungievision. You keep your exclusives, I'll keep my money ☺️
-
As a PS player, i think these exclusives are dumb and shouldn't exist. UNITY!
-
Bump for clarification
-
But here is the thing: Why did it go from one to two years? One year exclusivity was a record, why EXTEND it to Fall 2017? What is there to gain because I don't believe Xbox players are going to switch or anything...
-
Being honest, the exclusive stuff to Sony is actually rubbish in use. Barring the y1 hawkmoon (which I and a lot of people didn't even get until TTK anyway as its was a random drop) I think I've used each exclusive item once before either junking or storing. The exclusive strikes are average, you play them once and don't think about them again. Now if bungie turned round and said the next raid is exclusive to Sony platforms, that would be justified reason to be a bit miffed. Otherwise, it's just pointless trinkets in the long run. Sony could probably fund a whole studio on what they've spent on these exclusive bits in destiny.

Pay the same price, get less game... #stopbungie

Pretty sure the timed exclusives its talking about are the ones coming in Rise of Iron.. Like that ship and crucible map.
-
If this exclusive crap continues into Destiny 2, I'm going to stop my Guardian's journey right there. Love the game, but I'm not going to support more cancerous business practices among game systems. Console exclusive games are bad enough in terms of wanting to play all the games, we don't need this unfair treatment among platforms that are supported by a third party game when both pay the same price. The players are the ones that lose.

"Timed exclusive until at least Fall 2016." The keywords being "at least".
