She made a question mark with her right index finger.
-
"I'm known as the Monster Of The North. Anyone who crosses me is nailed to a cross or tortured and killed."
-
She raised her eyebrows slightly, and backed away from him a little.
-
"You haven't crossed me. No need to fear. Besides, you'd make a better slave than to kill you."
-
She frowned slightly at the last bit, making a question mark. A blind and mute slave? She thought that was pretty weird.
-
"You are tough, and can kill a Legionnaire. That would be the mark of a good slave, should we want you as one."
-
She shivered slightly, and shook her head.
-
"As I said, you need not worry. Just do nothing to cross the Legion, and you will be fine."
-
She nods, not looking at him.
-
"I can tell you are uncomfortable right now, and make no mistake, I don't think I would even take you as a slave if you crossed the Legion. I don't think it would be wise to make an enemy of you. You have much potential, enough to where Caesar might see you as a threat. I do not see a threat. I see an opportunity. Cassie, should you ever want to, ask of becoming a Legionnaire. I might be able to get Caesar to bend the rules. Should you become part of the Legion, we could help you with your... Predicament." The Legate meant most of these words, and maybe pity was clouding his judgement.
-
She raises an eyebrow at that, but shakes her head. I deserved this punisment
-
"What punishment? Your blind and muteness? What could've you done to deserve that?"
-
She shakes her head sadly, not willing to go into detail.
-
"So you wish not to tell. That is fine. Just remember my offer. It stands until I say it no longer does."
-
She looks directly into the man's eyes. Her dull, blue pupils briefly flickered to a piercing sky blue, and her eyes widened with shock, before they returned to their original blue. Immediately after this, she nodded, standing up. Joining this Legion was the right thing to do, however she did not know what might end up from her decision. All that she knew was that, for a brief moment, she could see.... And so, she accepted his offer.
-
The Legate led her to a small Legion camp outside of the Dojo. The camp was many, many red tents, all surrounding a big, white tent. He led her inside the white tent, and took her to the quartermaster. "Leone. This is our newest recruit, Cassie." Leone: "Legate, aren't women not allowed to be recruited into the Legion? I thought Caesar forbade it." Legate: "Quartermaster, Caesar died when the Courier assaulted Hoover Dam, along with Legate Lanius. I have absolute control over this division until the next Caesar is named. So no, it is not forbidden now. We are low on men and allies. We take what we can get. Now, get Cassie some armor." Leone: "Yes, Legate." Quartermaster Leone left the room, then came back with a set of Recruit Legionnaire armor. He handed it to Cassie. Leone: "Now, it's not fitted to fit your chest size, so come back if you need it tweaked."
https://goo.gl/images/DJq8rO This is what the armor looks like. You can chose whether to wear it casually, but you must wear it during Legion raids or battles.
-
Cassie nodded, taking the armor. She felt around it, picturing what it looked like in her mind. She pointed to the armor, then to her clothes, and made a question mark.
What's the Legion's name?
-
What do you mean? It's official name is Caesar's Legion
Legate: "You can choose whether or not to wear it casually, but you must wear it during Legion battles."
-
She nodded again, this time a little exasperated. She took out a paper and pen, writing. Where can I change
K
-
"You will be permitted a tent. It's the last one on the bottom right."
-
She nodded, and began heading towards the tent.
-
She walked past many conversations, and other tents. It takes a few minutes to arrive to her tent.
-
She entered the tent, feeling around it, and trying to grasp an image for what it looked like.
-
It was simple, the ground was covered in cloth, and there was a small footlocker in front of a sleeping bag.
-
She changed into her armor, and walked back out into the camp.
