So during a game of iron banner I got a hunter and titan teleporting everwhere with a red bar, As soon as the game ended he was green again, then next game started he went red again. He was in a fireteam with the Hunter and those two were on top of the leaderboard due to lag. I've already reported them but Bungo I would really appreciate if you looked into this. Anyone with similar experiences feel free to post the story here.

I had shot a guy with a shotgun then he teleported away making me waste my ammo then he appears behind me and shotguns me
-
if you could look at each others screen during play you may or maynot be shocked at how bad it really is.

I was just playing a game and I shot and melee this Sunbreaker around 8 times before I could kill him and when I finally did it was with my nova bomb. I thought the guy was lag switching for sure. Then I started destroying people with shotgun melee and about 10 kills in I realized it was like the enemy team couldn't even see me. So I tried messaging a guy on the enemy team and he's said it was like I was a ghost killing everyone. After I realized what had happened I sat down in the middle of the map and didn't shoot at anyone because it certainly wasn't fair and I didn't want to get reported for something I couldn't even understand myself. I was green bar the whole time, even the enemies I spoke to assured me of that. I joined their party and they told me that my character was across the map running into walls as I killed them. So I stopped playing Iron Banner for fear of it happening again and getting reported. Then the exact same thing happened with one of the guys In the party I joined. Is this just lag or do you think someone was lag switching? I'm still quite confused.

Edited by ItsAbadPlayer: 8/19/2016 9:35:41 AMMate same but sometimes id be on yellow for no reason, my internet is 176mbs down and 13mbs up. I even checked it during a match. So im lost as to why i was on a yellow bar. Edit: so its my connection to the host, why cant it pick a better host. Fuk

It happens me in the oposite directon I start in green doing a decent job but at the middle I become red and its a triumph to kill a single player.
-
RED BAR GODS, they are called gods for a reason...
-
Edited by Caligrown85: 8/17/2016 9:13:07 PMHas to do with bandwidth. Lobbies don't take as wide of a band when compared to live gameplay. The only real solution to this problem is to have everyone with bad connection go get a job so they can afford better internet. This happens to me, though unfortunately, when my wife and daughter are both streaming videos on separate tvs while I am trying to play.
-
That's because in between games it's dedicated servers and then in game it's p2p. He wasn't laggy enough to the server to red bar but was laggy to the host of the lobby.
-
This is completely buggies fault. They match make based on "skill" (whatever the -blam!- that is) instead of oh I don't know proximity. They do a ton of things wrong.
-
Unfortunately I am one of those guys you are talking about. Always green bar until I get into PVP and then automatically it goes red and trust me never in my favour. I have asked them numerous times to look into the situation but nothing ever happens, maybe when they lose all their players they will change things.
-
Massive BUMP Shame BUNGIE will ignore this though
-
Bump, tired of having people who lag basically getting God mode. Especially when you pump special ammo into them, that's limited already and waste the rounds.
-
-
Bump- happened to me every 5 games today.
-
I got a "Postmortem" kill yesterday with my DIs-43 scout rifle. Like what? How is that even possible?
-
Same here They are either manipulating the bandwidth or lag switching. I report them all. nothing ever gets done. If they have to cheat to win so be it. I'm bad at crucible and I admit it but at least I don't cheat and claim to be great

I had an issue back during the SRL. I was in the lead for the first two laps and next thing i know im in second because a Titan lagged ahead and he kept that lead. Even when he appeared to have hit an obstacle he was still ahead of me by the same length. After the race finished i reported him for cheating. Next race i won but i got a message from him saying i cheated I responded with: "Says the guy who lagged into First Place."
-
Look into it oh yes of course I guess they're just going to fix someone else's connection
-
Happens a lot. It's even most likely not their fault either. If anything they were green bar in other games before you ran into them. Noobs like to assume a red bar means cheater.
-
Lag switchers. Switch goes on during match. Switch goes off after match. If you are just red bar it is not going to go on & off like that. Report those fools
-
Yes! Definitely this! This is the biggest issue in the whole PvP side of the game, just more so in the Banner. It just makes you not want to play any more, I almost regret preordering Rise of Iron. But then there's always that glint of hope in your mind that Bungle might actually fix something for once instead of breaking it some more. Or actually put more control/restriction on the connection strengths allowed to play in PvP. Nothing worse than getting this in your final match for 9-0 in Trials! It's like a proverbial kick in nuts!

Edited by VertigoX86: 8/17/2016 1:33:29 PMCheaters deserve more severe punishment. I always report them. -blam!- that noise.

There were several games last night where immediately I messaged my friend: "Lag" "Lag is baaaad!" "wtf"
-
This game is a broken laggy mess, thanks to bungie going with peer 2 peer it will never get any better, all we can hope is that DEDICATED SERVERS are used for destiny 2, but being it's Activsion behind it I wouldn't get hopes up. I can't remember that last time I played a game in crucible that wasn't laggy? maybe 3 months ago for 1 game. My connection is Wired, top range router, 160mbs down, 10mbs up, 9ms ping. makes no difference.
-
Got to love it when you shoot the red bar with an auto rifle, and their health doesn't drop till your dead. I watched a guy I was shooting, I died no one lease around then his health drops and he died... Lol
-
Edited by HyperVigiIant: 8/17/2016 8:42:42 AMThe servers need to do a better job at selecting the hosts for a match. If a lagger is host, his ping may be green, but the game's connection quality will be poor. Bungie also needs to do a better job at matching all players with people that are within their regions. It shouldn't matter if you are the best gamer in Destiny, or the worst; everyone deserves fair games with good connection quality (unless you deliberately make yourself lag, in which case you should only be allowed to play with other people who do the same, similar to what GTA Online does).
