This story is set after Rise of Iron, of which I don't know the full story. This is also my first attempt at any sort of narrative about one of my Guardians.
It started with a Spark. Of inspiration, creation, and hope? Or was it fire, thunder, and shadow?
I don't know. This is your story now, and your time to decide. You alone choose your fate, your destiny; I did, and I now say to you in parting: in momento vivere; cepit fortuna tua est et tua solus "live the moment; seize your fate, for it is yours and yours alone".
The small, angular ball darted from one rocky outcrop to the another, apparently looking for any form of protection from the scorching heat and blistering winds.
"I can't believe it: of all the desolate, deserted planets in the system, I get sent to MERCURY! Mercury, where the sun sears my casing half the time and freezes me solid the rest!" the ball muttered indignantly.
To be honest, I'd rather be out here than on Luna. Or anywhere else with an infestation of Hive and/or Taken. Now...I'll try and find Osiris, if he's even alive. He's the best chance we have of finding the Guardian.
Coming to a metallic, canyonesque structure in the Mercurial landscape, the ball - now identifiable as a Ghost of the Last City - dipped down and into the structure to shelter from and avoid the blazing heat of the nearby star. The Ghost continued onward in the shade of the canyon, glancing up and spying ships belonging to the Redjacks of Lord Shaxx, leader of the Crucible tournaments.
"Score another arena for the Tower..." the Ghost drifted as he noticed a tall spire-like structure formed of an unknown metallic alloy - the post-Collapse Mercurial equivalent of a mountain - towering above the rest of the planet's surface. The Lighthouse was the base camp of the Disciples of Osiris, the followers of an exiled Warlock who happened to be on good terms with the Sunbreaker Order of Titans - also exiled from the Tower and Last City.
If the Ghosts were given mouths, this one's would be wide open in awe at the sight of such a magnificent structure. The Ghost then saw an unexpected sight; the eight ships of the Redjacks heading towards the Lighthouse towing a ninth behind them.
"I better get moving, I have to see what all that fuss is about. I need to fin--". Before he could finish his monologue, the Ghost vanished in a the shimmer of blueish-white light that denoted a transmat, or transition of matter.
When the sequence was complete, the Ghost looked around for the source, and recognised that he was in the Lighthouse's treasure room. Ghost only recognised it from the one time his Guardian - the Exo Stark-96 - had been several months prior.
Yes, I have only been Flawless once. For those interested, I picked up a Water Star..I can't remember the roll. Oh, and I picked up the Aaru's Passage shader yesterday..it teed off one of my Trials buddies who'd gotten 3 separate 10-kill streaks across the card, and never had a shader. He's done probably thrice the amount of Trials runs as myself.
Ghost looked behind him, and spotted Lord Shaxx, conversing with his former mentor Lord Saladin Forge. Variks the Loyal, of House Judgment, was also there with Petra Venj of The Reef, as were representatives of the New Monarchy, the Future War Cult, Dead Orbit, and the Vanguard (although Cayde-6 was there personally, as was Eris Morn).
"What's everybody doing here...?" Ghost then saw why they were there; Stark-96's body, lying totally still on a stone table where the treasure chests normally stood.
"No, no, no! He can't be gone..has anyone tried reviving him?"
Lord Saladin was the next to speak. "We have, all efforts to do so were in vain. Now it's your turn, Ghost. We'll stand back."
"Good luck, his Light was practically nonexistent when we found him," chimed Osiris. "It might be different with you though, Ghost."
Several hours later, Ghost was still at it even though most of his audience had gone to rest for the night. Cayde, Saladin, and Osiris continued to keep watch.

Ending 1:
Three weeks after Ghost first arrived at the Lighthouse, the Titan Stark-96, and his Ghost, were declared deceased. Saladin erected a statue in the Iron Temple's Mausoleum in the Guardian's honour, with his name being inscribed on the Tower plaza for all to see.

Ending 2:
After several weeks, despite almost exhausting his reserves of Light, Ghost revived his Guardian. The pair continued to stand against the Darkness for decades to come, with new Guardians becoming inspired by the exploits of Stark-96..and in the process, becoming Legend themselves.
