Okay look I'm not a pvp god or anything. Hella average. BUT I have games (usually in a row) where I have like 25 kills and 4 deaths. Every shot is on point. Snipes? Pssshhh hitting like a shotgun main claims snipers hit. All I can think is hot diggty damn I'm -blam!-ing killing this game. Then for about 10 games in a row i may scrape by with a crispy .10 KD. Trials? Trials? Shoot I'll smack people with 2200 Elos and then lose to people with 1400 Elos.. Blows my mind how inconsistent I am and it's absolutely nerve racking. Lol. Any one else feel my pain?
-
Everyday I feel that pain in pvp. I'm working hard to try and get better and watching streams constantly to see and analyze movements
-
Yeah it has nothing to do with skill man. It's all about connection. I never understood how the hell they measure skill when it all matters how good the connection is in order to see how skilled someone is. So skilled = how good you are at dealing with the variable connections? I dunno...I have the same problem as you except I don't go anywhere near trials.
-
Yea exactly this. My 1.0 is an average of .25s and 1.75s
-
Well kinda
-
I think it's damage ref I think he's gone rogue and does what ever the -blam!- he feels like
-
I'm pretty inconsistent but not that much of a skill gap. I can always hold my own but some days I can't put a sniper down.
-
good to know I'm not alone. I can either be the best player in the lobby or get the hottest farm I've ever seen (and of course I'll blame it on lag).
-
I think it really depends on map and also who you are playing against.
-
Same here dude.
-
Yup. Some games I go 4.9 then the next game I hit .6
-
Yep. I feel the same pain you do :'(
-
The struggle bus is now accepting players... scratch that the struggle freighter is p-p rip all inconsistent players
-
Lol you are not alone in this plight guardian. I can go from god mode to preschool mode in just a few games
-
I'm with you bro. I had a k/d of 4+ in a game last night. I was like whaaa?
-
Me... every so often I will have a godly game then a few average games then a down right shitter its at that point I usually put the controller down and retire to bed

Edited by ChillyPaper074: 8/9/2016 7:56:42 AMOne thing I noticed is when I teamed up with a friend who has a bad connection I can't hit the side of a barn door. I stopped playing crucible with him in my fireteam. Took me a while to work it out. Much better solo. Maybe just coincidence - not sure.

me.. trying to do lord shaxx bounties with weapons i suck at using...
-
That's me. Just an example yesterday on my warlock. We 5-1 a team with 2 people over 2000 Elo. Then lose to basically 5 year olds. Rippppop
-
Yea im the same way. Lag, and different play style can really mess up the vibe.
-
Man, could not agree more. I will be mvp some games and be last place others.
-
Right there with you, I can be at the top of the leader board by a large amount one game than the next it's like I forgot I had thumbs.
-
Right there with you. one match I am 23 and 3, next match I can't hit anything. Very annoying.
-
The games when you're on a roll are probably when you have host.
-
Yeah I feel your pain. I suck at PVP despite trying to get better. I have a string of positive games followed by a streak of shitty KD games. My KD never improves and never goes down. My KD remains shitty due to my skills coupled with the inconsistencies experienced game to game with lag, etc etc. If player connections were consistent I believe everyone would enjoy Destiny PVP more. Bungie cannot fix this otherwise I'm sure they would have by now. For the record I have good internet and am hard wired. Destiny PVP is broken and has been broken for the better part of a year.

This is what I think is going on: Bungie gives players easy games at about a 5:1 ratio. What I mean is that once every 5 games or so you will be matched with people that you will stomp. The other 4 games you will be playing people who are at or slightly above your skill level. I think Bungie puts this in so it doesn't seem like a complete sweatfest all the time. The ratio could be different for different people or it may not exist at all, it just seems like this in my case. Ever seen a game where everyone has around a 1.0 KD but one guy has around a 2.0+ KD and is clearly more skilled than everyone else? The people at the bottom are experiencing their difficult game where the guy at the top is experiencing his/her easy game. I think this is a way to limit the sting of SBMM. I could be paranoid here but it does seem like this in my case. Though I will admit that people are predisposed to discover patterns even if there aren't any so I could be wrong on this one but it would explain a lot with respect to my personal experience in crucible. Despite what some people might think Bungie are a pretty intelligent bunch. It's not outside the realm of possibility that there are sophisticated algorithms going on behind the match making scenes that shape our experience. It wouldn't surprise me if stuff like this was in the game but I could be wrong.

What is this "consistency"? Can I eat it?
