First off I want to say that the goal for acquiring full gear sets is not very high. I am just shooting for a damage decrease or something for the gear now cause I felt there is no real need to have all the gear unless there was an incentive. The April update is allowing people to eventually reach max level by playing and grinding exotics for their next boost to a piece of armor or weapon. There needs to be an incentive to gather all gear sets or there is no real need to. A shader when you have all pieces is cool but what does that really do for me? Doesn't help kill or not be killed by the enemies. Whats the benefit to getting a whole new raid set when people will more than likely infuse it to something else to power their old gear up?
Example:
All Kingsfall Raid gear (5% damage decrease from Taken) or (5% damage increase to Taken)
All Vault of Glass gear (5% damage decrease from Vex) or (5% damage increase to Vex)
All Crota's End gear (5% damage decrease from Hive) or (5% damage increase to Hive)
All Vanguard/Crucible/Faction gear (5% extra rep gains) This will stack for faction exotics rep boost.
Other Ideas:
All Raid gear: Faster reloading and carry more ammo for all weapons
This would become a trade off from variety but make the goal of striving for gear sets that much more desirable.

No, it takes away the customisation options of Destiny's armour system. Having this would take us back to the days of Vanilla where everyone looked almost identical.
-
We already have this though...
-
Well they technically do already. Raid gear has perks that help you in the raid like faster reload speed while in an aura or increased agility when holding a relic...etc they all features weapons that do increased damage to that raids particular enemy as well. Same for PvP sets like although not to the same degree. But there are helmets that grant bonus super energy from reviving an ally and boots that give increased agility for capturing zones.
-
Sacrificing exotic armor and also the slim chance I'll have the perks wanted and Inr/Str/Disc spreads on the whole armor set. Nah I'm good.
-
So we sacrifice using an exotic armor for whatever bonus wearing the full set gives us? That's gonna be a tough sell. Then there will be those that just change to faction gear at the end of a match/strike. I actually like the idea, but not sure how it would be properly implemented. That's one of my goals right now with Destiny is to collect the Spektar faction gear. It's a bit of a process and I do believe there should be some sort of bonus. Maybe only 4 out of 5 armors need to be faction that way exotic armors could be used. Idk
-
I would like this only if they implemented vanity armor slots.

Edited by GemCutter: 8/8/2016 3:27:18 PMNo, it helped ruin the division.
-
I don't like this idea only because I like to see guardians who look different and ultimately this would make that visual variety less common. It would be a bit like the Crota's End period, when everyone looked very similar (apart from which exotic they were using).
-
Full set of faction armor grants +10% faction rep gains? Full Vanguard gear decreases melee cooldown? Full Crucible gear decreases grenade cooldown? Full ToO/Raid gear decreases super cooldown?
-
No it'll reduce customizability
-
There is literally no reason whatsoever to go for a full Set of gear. This is a mistake.
-
Assisted in ruining division and how would exotics work or be useful?
-
Bonuses for full sets would limit customization options. We'd end up back in Year 1 when having the best gear meant looking like everyone else.
-
Didnt they already do something similar with the old poe set gear? It would be nice to have it back in a different kind of way
-
They did that in the division to pretty unbalanced results . Point is with bungies problem with balancing unless they nailed it right it would probably be a nightmare unless you had the set!
-
Sounds too cool, and as with all things too cool the community would ruin it. If the mood of obtaining is rng based then the ones who aren't having what they need dropped will cry nerd because it's not fair they can't have it and whatever perks that came with the armor set would get faded. Or They go the new route of everything being handed out to everyone at the same time and make the perks shit all so those cry babies feel appeased. #whinersruineddestiny

Edited by elkhoury: 8/8/2016 3:30:03 PMIn before stupid people think the devision was the 1st game to do it. Stupid people gona hate.
-
That'd be cool. When you equip all of them it should give you a buff kinda like the tempered iron buff for iron banner.
-
What like terraria?
-
-
-
Soooo.... Terraria? .... Yes. The answer is yes.
i like killing unicorns
-
I'd like it if having a full faction set would invert the rep gains (for example, instead of 120 vanguard rep and 60 faction rep, you gain 120 faction rep and 60 vanguard rep)
-
Yeas they should
-
Kinda like Diablo. They should have orange sets that grant bonuses depending on the number of pieces equipped
-
Edited by Titan: 8/8/2016 6:50:38 PMOr you could wear at least 2-3 pieces of any gear sets for a bonus, that way you can still rock an exotic piece.
