First off I want to say that the goal for acquiring full gear sets is not very high. I am just shooting for a damage decrease or something for the gear now cause I felt there is no real need to have all the gear unless there was an incentive. The April update is allowing people to eventually reach max level by playing and grinding exotics for their next boost to a piece of armor or weapon. There needs to be an incentive to gather all gear sets or there is no real need to. A shader when you have all pieces is cool but what does that really do for me? Doesn't help kill or not be killed by the enemies. Whats the benefit to getting a whole new raid set when people will more than likely infuse it to something else to power their old gear up?
Example:
All Kingsfall Raid gear (5% damage decrease from Taken) or (5% damage increase to Taken)
All Vault of Glass gear (5% damage decrease from Vex) or (5% damage increase to Vex)
All Crota's End gear (5% damage decrease from Hive) or (5% damage increase to Hive)
All Vanguard/Crucible/Faction gear (5% extra rep gains) This will stack for faction exotics rep boost.
Other Ideas:
All Raid gear: Faster reloading and carry more ammo for all weapons
This would become a trade off from variety but make the goal of striving for gear sets that much more desirable.

Bump again.

This would be great for PvE. I think Destiny 2 would be a more likely candidate to get this type of thing. Plus they might add something like set gear like in WoW and Diablo III.
-
Or it could do what Witcher 3 does which unlocks tiers of two different perks. Wearing 3 of the same set unlocks tier 1 and all of the same set unlocks tier 2. Gives you variety this way and allows you to still have at least the first tier perk active. You can even mix and match with other gear sets.

Sound dank af. Honestly, I just want to reroll armor.

No. Gear sets are ruining the division pvp. Terrible idea.
-
No, everyone would wear the same gear just to get those bonuses
-
I love iron banner gear, i just wished the gear gave a bonus or bonuses. All iron banner gear: Increased iron banner/crucible rep gains or increased glimmer for guardian kills... or both. :P
-
Lol look at these Year 2 noobs ;). Jk. But I disagree with this. It will end up being like Year 1 Iron Banner. Where everyone was wearing the exact same thing. And it got boring after awhile
-
I see more of minor bonus to reputation or some kinda comesic effect
-
i.e. The Division.
-
Love the idea...it takes a while to get a decent full set of something. It should be rewarding to get a full set even if the benefits are minute.
-
Maybe faction bonuses or special perks for each faction. It would give factions more special value when you pick one
-
I like your idea but don't like the "other idea" you had on the bottom. Your idea however is great because it's an incentive to wear the set but doesn't force you into a position to wear it to be on top of things. The "other idea" is bad because it forces you to wear the set to keep up with others that is wearing it. It promotes linearity and that is just terrible. As long as the idea you just posted is it then I'm all for it.
-
NO! Then we would go back to everyone looking the exact same with one full set rather than the mix and match we see. Plus would ruin exotics.
-
They do already, ok well only the SRL gear. It activates happy little lights to boost your...mood?
-
Sounds like an awesome idea, bump
-
Maybe other perks but otherwise great idea.
-
Diablo 3 is the best with this...I don't know why people keep saying "Division already did this". Welcome to ten years ago. It's good system but Bungie would probably -blam!- it up
-
This kind of thing is never a good idea. All it does is result in killing player diversity, at least for the sensible people who realize that looking different isn't worth losing extra abilities.
-
I think raid sets should have their unique bonuses REMOVED from taking up weapon perks, or listed on armour and instead be given out as set bonus based on a how many of a set a player has.
-
-
Every mmo has this
-
You look like a boss, since you match
-
Raid gear already has raid perks. I'd be against full set bonuses because it's put stats against cosmetics. Character customization is already on the weak side. I'd rather have a level system for weapon proficiency that boosts handling for specific weapon types, and levels up based on exp gained with that weapon type or kills. Maybe even put some kind of special perk for the final unlock like better accuracy (average distance the bullet deviates from point of aim, not AA) or stability.

Division already did this
