First off I want to say that the goal for acquiring full gear sets is not very high. I am just shooting for a damage decrease or something for the gear now cause I felt there is no real need to have all the gear unless there was an incentive. The April update is allowing people to eventually reach max level by playing and grinding exotics for their next boost to a piece of armor or weapon. There needs to be an incentive to gather all gear sets or there is no real need to. A shader when you have all pieces is cool but what does that really do for me? Doesn't help kill or not be killed by the enemies. Whats the benefit to getting a whole new raid set when people will more than likely infuse it to something else to power their old gear up?
Example:
All Kingsfall Raid gear (5% damage decrease from Taken) or (5% damage increase to Taken)
All Vault of Glass gear (5% damage decrease from Vex) or (5% damage increase to Vex)
All Crota's End gear (5% damage decrease from Hive) or (5% damage increase to Hive)
All Vanguard/Crucible/Faction gear (5% extra rep gains) This will stack for faction exotics rep boost.
Other Ideas:
All Raid gear: Faster reloading and carry more ammo for all weapons
This would become a trade off from variety but make the goal of striving for gear sets that much more desirable.

Oh come on now. This post makes sense yes totally agree. -blam!- diversity. Most players use same weapons all day everyday. So this would be good ways to add little depth. It would also give players more reasons to keep gear. It should stem real far. Maybe some agility, recover, armour bonuses. It be sweet. But don't expect it to happen. Activison don't do good ideas. Only nerf ones. Good post its nice to see some new ideas on that would make game little more fun. Destiny is and always will be grindfest. So bungie needs to make this part of game more enjoyable

Full pariah gear should net you 1 passage coin per trials win or 5 percent crucible rep bonus
-
If you want perks from full body armor sets play the division and hit the DZ and I'll see you back on destiny in 10 minutes
-
Nope. That would only add more grind to the grind.
-
I want my mother-blam!-in grandmaster wolf gear.
-
Yeah there should be set bonuses like diablo.
-
Yes, yes, YES!
-
Yes. A la the division but who cares
-
Not really. Because everyone again would wear the same gear. Its nice to mix and match
-
No. Seriously, why? That just discourages diversity and creativity.
-
Remember TDB? Before Etheric Light, Infusing and Trials? All 32 players were either a mix/match of CE and IB gear, with Glowhoo so you could let everyone know you'd done HM 100 times and hadn't got Crux. I like the current diversity in gear by infusing whatever legendaries/exotics that take your fancy.
-
Hell no, in year 1 the worst thing about this game was feeling that you needed to wear a full set of raid armour.
-
No. Fashion
-
Bump if it gives not advantage to pvp
-
I like it.
-
I'm down for the idea, since it doesn't give you any advantage in PVP. Having a full set of anything is cool, and does take a little time getting it. Why not get a little bonus?
-
No... You ask complain about balancing now, full sets would only make the problem much worse I've never felt underpowered in pve so I don't even know why it's being mentioned

Edited by Bob: 8/9/2016 8:19:16 AMnearly every game I know that has several pieces of armor usually has gear bonuses on the high ranking armor. So it only makes sense to me for the high end (raid/trials) gear sets should have some kind of bonus. Diversity was never about armor imo anyway, it was always about weapons. why the heck would I want a guardian that looks like a clown wearing all pieces of different stuff? Edit: they kind of did it with shaders (you needed a piece of each armor for EM and HM for a shader)
-
Copy division?
-
This ain't the division :p
-
I'd be behind this if and only if we got transmog too, I don't want to sacrifice fashion
-
-
It stands to reason that full sets should have a perk when 3 or more items of the same armour are worn, I don't get why this isn't a thing
-
Bump again.
