TBH, I'm still more excited for skyrim remastered. I agree that the amount of content you will be getting for $30.00 is pretty fair. But it still appears to be a continuation of the TTK model. Sure G-horn, Thorn, etc. are coming back. New Khovstov looks cool.
But where are the endgame guns that are going to make you go "HOLY @#$@#$!!!!" when you first shoot them- and make you scream that in a good way?! Where is the loot that is going to make you scream and throw your headset and dance around like the silly gamer geeks we are when we get it? Moments like this....

Yes, RNGesus was BRUTAL in Y1. Yes, many players ground their butts off and didn't get one. But the fact of the matter is that for those that did, this is is the kind of joy the drop brought.
And if Bungie didn't keep making things obsolete, we can have that Y1 system again, because on a long enough timeline, people SHOULD eventually get one of those guns.
I don't want to hear arguments about it becoming LFG requirements. People ALWAYS have LFG requirements. They just change with times (LL335 + ToM/Spindle + Oryx Challenge Emblem ring a bell?).
Bottom line, we need some incredible loot to chase again. The kind of loot that will make us scream like little girls when we get it. The kind of loot that will greatly decrease the grind in PVE when we do get it. The kind of difference-making weapon that G-horn was pre-nerf (and the kind of weapon I anticipate G-horn will not be in Y3). And it should ONLY be available through RNG.
The chase for elite PVE loot is what keeps us playing PVE endgame content. I've only completed Kingsfall 12 times. It's not because I can't do it, but because there's no reason to do it after you finish all your challenge modes. The loot is trash for the most part and you can't get anything ELSE in the raid (other than raid gear) that you can't get elsewhere. So why even play it? In the time it takes to run a raid, I could run several strikes and possibly get a decent number of exotics.
And even then, why play? Loot from strikes, raids, etc. They're all just going to be used for infusion fuel anyways, and most of my stuff is LL 330-335. That 5 difference in light level isn't going to make such a huge difference that it motivates me to keep playing.

Don't compare apples to oranges , Destiny is a great social game , u can hang out with old friends , new ones , get excited have some fun or get pissed off playing Trials . non of that is in sky rim that game ur talking about is 5 years old .
-
I never compared the two. The ONLY comparison I'm making between the two is the fun I would have playing one vs the other. Perhaps YOU wouldn't have fun playing through Skyrim or playing through it again, but I know that I would. Every playthrough is different based on the kind of character you make, the choices you make, and how you actually play the game. And the world in Skyrim is so massive, I inevitably find SOMETHING new I didn't find before. IMO, that offers greater replayability than playing through the same strikes/missions/etc. forward and backward. If I want to play PVP, I can just pop in my halo disc and play matchmaking.

Literally only buying graphics.Skyrim remastered only has 5gbs of mod space which some space will be used for bugs and fixes that Bethesda never did. PC still benefits a lot more especially with it being free. Majority of it is just better graphics. All your new content and gear will come from mods which you have limited space.
-
Even if it was not mod-capable, I would probably still buy it because I've had the itch to play for the last year, but I knew I was getting XBONE eventually, so I didn't want to be half-way through a playthrough and have to convert. Ever since I got XBONE, I was checking weekly to see when it would be backwards compatible. I doubt the mods will be used to clean up any bugs/glitches, as Bethesda remastered Skyrim over Oblivion or Morrowind (other remaster-worthy titles) because it was the least amount of work and it still enjoys a huge following. I seriously doubt they'll want to dedicate serious resources to fixing glitches and bugs when they're in the midst of developing Elder Squirrels 6 and still managing ESO.

It's a fact modders created fixes into mods for the game.Have fun with the boring same ol' same ol'
-
Keep in mind, they haven't shown us everything, which is a good thing.
-
Which is why I'm waiting to buy until well after Launch. I want to see how hard they're going to nerf the new Artifacts and sniper rifles and other stuff people will be begging to be nerfed. TBH for me, its more about game management than it is about content. Unless they back off the nerfs, start buffing a few things, and letting us have some really great/fun weapons to obtain through endgame PVE, it's really just more of the same. I want to see them try to bring back the fun we had in Y1.
-
TBH, TTK has gotten boring, I can only really stand a few strikes here and there, since nothing is changing, why would I (or anyone) buy it? You're basically paying to keep playing the game that's been dead since December. I'm so glad Skyrim's coming out, I played the shit out of that game and now on PS4 -blam!- yeah.
-
Well that wouldn't fly nowadays people would get mad and stop playing after 30 raids of no vex
-
I sorta agree. I think there should be some cool really rare raid exotic that's is left to rng, but I do like how u can do quests now so u know your going to get something.
-
Y1 was trash honestly, up until HoW, then Y2 was decent. The game is gonna be three years old I mean tbh what else can you ask for
-
2 years old
-
Dude how was trash and u know it
-
Better economy than DB tho and didn't have to go to xur to upgrade stuff ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Nah honestly how was boring only thing that made bearable was etheric light and the grind and wait was fun that's something destiny should've had but nope everything is already easy to obtain no reward at all
-
Idk man it incentivized going back for any gear you didn't get before from raids and kept you from deleting vanilla gear. It simplified something that was too grindy, but if you liked ascendant energy grinding and spending a half hour getting thirty spinmetal for one upgrade node more justice to you lmfao
-
What are u talking about a lot of weapons were worth the grind like suros ,vex,ldr,longbow,77 wizard, pocket infinity, zombie apocalypse, voc, fatebringer, gally, icebreaker, black hammer, hunger of crota, the comedian, for the people, shadow price, three little words ,and many more that were as popular but we're as effective like three little words which was like two shot headshot shot. A lot of guns were worth the effort and what made it fun using them earning them and putting the effort and wait. Now everything is given to u by quest and barely any effort at all
-
?? No no, I'm saying HoW simplified the weapon upgrade system with the things it provided and made infusion with etheric light a possibility. The grind for the guns and gear was only more worth it because you could grab them and level up to 365, making them relevant. What was grindy was grabbing the raw materials for everything for upwards of a half hour.
-
What are u talking about u couldn't even earn some of those backs making it even more annoying because a lot people already deleted their old weapons and could only get the exotics and raid weapons back not the weapons that the vendors sold cause they changed it because of the vault space. And it was as diverse because trials brought a but of competitiveness causing only thorn, tlw, felwinter , the matador , and truth to be the only gums u see. Then it was just pulse rifles which pretty much went down hill from their because since everything was already handed to them the game just created less diversity because of the introduction of rerolling causing everyweapon to became useless. The only thing u saw was just the full on meta. Then exotics didn't feel special at all because everyone already had all the quests. Pvp may have been it's peak but since trials kinda ruined it making pvp less fun at the same time causing more nerfs to certain weapons because of how overused they were not how overpowered the weapons were. Going into a downward spiral not only ruining pve because of pvp.
-
HoW was the last hurrah of Y1, letting people upgrade whatever gear they wanted to the highest level. Regardless if they held onto old vanilla Destiny stuff, they could go and upgrade whatever legendary or exotic gear they had. There were no restrictions. If you really think HoW was garbage, that's fine, you're entitled to feel that way and I'm glad you shared your thoughts. But HoW, for me, was my open ticket into the raids, grabbing exotic gear, and truly getting involved with the game and it's community.
-
U little talked about the only thing that made how bearable liked it said how wasn't wasn't even the best even the dark below was better.
-
I don't see anyone really complaining about the guns because they were worth the grind like gally ,vex, voc, suros, black spindle, hunger of crota, fatebringer, shadow price,ldr,longbow,77 wizard, and many and these were the weapons that came in my head including my favorite three little words or bad seed down which already was a three shot headshot when pulse rifles were bad. Most of vanilla and even the dark below weapons were worth the grind because they were amazing compared to how and year 2 which became boring and would've been the worst dlcs if they didn't bring back old weapons and gear back from the past

Y1 wasn't perfect, but I have enjoyed it FAR MORE than Y2, which really gives us no incentive to keep playing like we did in Y1. No need to be on every Tuesday to run your nightfalls/heroics. No reason to repeatedly run the raids over and over. No endgame loot that was so enjoyable that we just kept playing even when we had it all. Sure, Y1 was often frustrating. You couldn't get exotics anywhere but Xur, Raid, the nightfall, and if RNGesus was feeling particularly generous, MAYBE once in a blue moon in PVP. But the raid gear was legendary and still trumps anything we have TODAY in all manners (except for light level) and the endgame exotics really made a difference. Those items gave you the ability to do stuff in half the time it would take you to do the same activity without them. And because they made the game so much easier, it was much more appealing to reach out and help your fellow guardians through their first encounters with Aetheon/Crota. You may consider HoW the high point of Y1, and there is a legit argument for that. Everything was relevant after HoW because of Etheric Light. But by that point in time, I had pretty much everything I wanted, and I hated both PoE and Trials. So HoW made me quit until they announced the moments of triumph. I did enjoy the awesome power of shotguns in PVE and PVP though.
-
Strikes dropped exotics too
-
I heard a rumor they did, but I never got one in Y1 except from nightfall.
