This Thomas Jefferson quote is one of my personal favorites. It's why I can say that I've had functional friendships and relationships with people of multiple religions, political ideologies, and cultural backgrounds. Just because someone has a different belief system doesn't mean that you shouldn't treat them with civility, even if you don't agree with them.
Echo chambers of agreement are boring, children. It's only when you meet people who disagree with you that you can grow as a person.
