- Campaign will have you fight to secure Felwinter's Peak before it becomes a Social Space
- Secret Area in Felwinter's Peak (Perfect for playing Hide & Seek)
- Flaming Axe Relics AS WELL AS a type of Shock Cannon Relic
- Axe Relics work off of Ammo
[spoiler]Axe Ammo regenerates with light attacks and drains ammo woth heavy attacks. When above a certain ammo threshold, deals double damage.[/spoiler]
- New Arena "Archon's Forge"
[spoiler]Utilizing Court of Oryx-like summoning system, this arena pits Guardian Fireteams in a 5-minute, wave-based encounter. Culminates into a boss battle that drops exclusive Forge loot.[/spoiler]
- 5 campaign missions
- Efrideet teased to still be alive because she has no statue in Felwinter's Peak. More info on her soon after RoI release.
- Level cap stays at 40
- New max Light is 385, until Hard Mode Raid releases "some weeks after launch" to increase light to 400
- Same 1:1 infusion system, so all Year 2 infusible gear can be infused to Year 3 values
[u]Activities[/u]
- New "The Wretched Eye" Strike unlocked after completing a quest
[spoiler]This Strike varies each time you play it. Each playthrough opens different doors spawning varied enemies. Boss battle seems inspired by [i]Frankenstein[/i].[/spoiler]
- Two other strikes refreshed
[spoiler]- "Devil's Lair" Strike against Sepiks Perfected with SIVA enemies and now story thread and dialogue.
- "Summoning Pits" Strike becomes "Abomination Heist", with a far more threatening encounter than its original incarnation.[/spoiler]
- Strike-specific loot easier to collect
[spoiler]Strike Playlists and Nightfalls have a chance to drop a "Skeleton Key" upon completion. This key is used to unlock a "Strike Hoard" that spawns at the conclusion of any strike. Strike Hoards are guaranteed to drop a Strike-specific loot item for that Strike.[/spoiler]
- "Wrath of the Machine" Raid
[spoiler]- A continuation of the story, focusing on SIVA and the Devil Splicers
- Focuses on constant mobility
- DEATH ZAMBONI!!!
- Numerous outdoor encounters
- Opens on September 23rd, 3 days after Rise of Iron releases
- Chief theme is "collision"[/spoiler]
[u]Enemies[/u]
- Enemy behaviors and transformations teased
[spoiler]- Splicer Dregs have mechanical peg legs and throw SIVA-powered grenades. Upon death, a seeking energy projectile erupts from the body
- Vandals have a berserk mode similar to Ogres, where they recharge health and charge towards the Guardians
- Shock rifles no longer seek, but instead travel at much faster velocity
- Wire Rifles now fire a devastating triple blast
- Servitors get re-skinned to appear angular
- Walker Tanks become Perfected Walkers, glowing with red energy, firing seeking cannon shots, and summoning additional SIVA clusters[/spoiler]
[u]Weapons, Armor, Artifacts, etc.[/u]
- New Exotic Quests
- Direct routes to acquiring the NEW & IMPROVED, OVERHAULED artifacts
[spoiler]- Obtained through weekly bounties from Tyra Karn in Felwinter's Peak, get a "Iron Lords' Legacy" token, spend token on one of three artifacts available for that week, complete small ritual to activate the artifacts
[u]ARTIFACTS[/u]
- Memory or Radegast: Allow swords to reflect energy-based projectiles, including Ogre Eye Blasts and Guardian Rockets
- Memory of Perun: Highlights enemy Guardians with full Supers in Yellow and low Health in Red
- Memory of Jolder: Eliminates all sprint cooldown effects
- Memory of Silimar: Dramatically reduces any Damage Over Time (DoT) effects
- Memory of Felwinter: Lose your Super, but gain an extra Grenade and Melee Charge, as well as a boost to all Stats and having Orbs of Light recharge your Grenade and Melee Abilities
- Memory of Gheleon: Gain a detailed Radar at all times and Radar shows when aiming Primary weapons
- Memory of Skorri: Glow with a light that speeds up Super recharge for all nearby Allies
- Memory of Timur: Melee attack has a chance to turn low-power Minions of the Darkness into allies. Another melee or a 30-second time limit cancels the effect[/spoiler]
- New Armor collections include: Archon's Forge, Iron Banner, WotM Raid, Iron Lord, and Factions
[spoiler]Iron Lord Armor set is obtained via an account-based Rise of Iron Record Book that tracks all Rise of Iron progress and unlocks a piece of gear across all classes for each milestone. (Presumably free record book)[/spoiler]
- Faction-themed Ghost Shells and Sparrows
- Every Class Item ever seen is returning to circulation EXCEPT previous Raid Class Items and will change with shaders
- New Customization items for armor and weapons called "Ornaments" that actually change geometry (Large Pauldrons, Fur Trim, etc.), both subtle and dramatic in style
[spoiler]- Applied one at a time and can change back and forth at will
- Some Ornaments are obtainable only by "top-tier" play (Flawless Trials runs for Ornaments to change Trials gear, for example)
- Others come from Radiant Treasures, the Rise of Iron equivalent of TTK's Sterling Treasures[/spoiler]
- Exotic Warlock Boots confirmed
- Exotic Sidearm reminiscent of [i]RoboCop[/i] gun
- Exotic SIVA-themed Pulse Rifle that blossoms a cloud of seeking energy from Precision Kills
- Exotic Khvostov 7G-0X
[spoiler]No single exotic perk, however, has the most perk options available of any gun in Destiny ever (counting over 100 combinations), including different Fire Modes (Full Auto, Burst, Semi-Auto), Fire Rates (450 or 900 RPM), etc.[/spoiler]
- Gjallarhorn, Thorn, and Khvostov confirmed to be obtained in Year 3 through quests
- Pre-Orders get access to the Black and Silver Iron Gjallarhorn and the Iron Gjallarwing Sparrow
[spoiler]Non-Pre-Orders still have access to the White and Gold versions. (Gjallarhorn from quest, Gjallarwing from Eververse)[/spoiler]
[u]Crucible[/u]
- New Crucible Game Mode called "Supremacy" resembles CoD Kill Confirmed with extremely short respawn times

- 4 new Medium-sized Crucible Maps (3 + 1 PS-Exclusive)
[spoiler]- Last Exit: Venus subway station with a cliffside, tight train tubes and maintenance tunnels, and cover-ridden outdoor area
- Floating Gardens: Vex Shrine on Venus with flowing Vex Radiolarian Fluid waterfall and an interior bridge
- Skyline: Clovis Bray facility on Mars with a Vista overlooking the Buried City, a rail car, and a hologram that lights the lobby
- Icarus: (PS-Exclusive) Solar-collection site on Mercury set inside a large array[/spoiler]
- First Iron Banner in Rise of Iron will be Supremacy game mode
- Iron Banner bounties and progression overhaul
[spoiler]- No more Temper Buff, instead, less time to get to Rank 5 in general
- Alt-Character boost still in effect
- IB Class Items, Shaders, and Emblems no longer increase IB rep gains
- IB Bounties being reworked to be achieved more easily
- Completing an IB bounty immediately gives you a piece of armor or weapon[/spoiler]
- "One more major change coming to Crucible when Rise of Iron launches", but no details yet. (NEWS ON THIS EXPECTED AUGUST 16TH)
