Greeting my fellow guardians, today I would like to bring to light "THE 4TH HORSEMAN" and why I think it needs a huge reworking of epic magnitude.
So lets get right into it; "THE 4TH HORSEMAN's" perk line up is a bit underwhelming, so starting with its main perk "Thunderer" which could use some touch ups like: "This weapon can fire in full auto mode and has vastly increased stability and reload speed." So in just doing that this weapon will begin to feel more exotic. Then on to its ballistic perks which seem to be fine but please do comment otherwise if need be, on to the next perk which is "Final Round" and i do believe that it does its job but how about we swap that out for a perk (I just made up) called "Pathfinder" (totally exclusive to this gun.) so what pathfinder would do is that after each kill this weapons damage increases (stacks up to 5 times) basically this weapon will act as if it is forming a path of pure and utter destruction. (Insert maniacal laugh). Then on to its third line of perks which could use some reworking, its first third collom perk which is "Fitted stock" doesn't seem to do much to this guns stability in which I believe it could be swapped out for "Send It" and i say this because it would help with this guns horrible range. Then next perk in that line up could be "Reinforced Barrel" which would just help with the range again. Then on to the last perk which doesn't make this gun feel exotic, I believe it can be swapped out for (again another perk I made up and only exclusive to this gun) "Holdout" and what said perk would do is that kills with this weapon will return ammo to the magazine, that being said this perk would just be a modified "Return to Sender". All in all I do believe this gun could use a blanket buff to its stats as well. Again please comment more ideas and criticism is welcome!

What it needs is guranteed ammo returns from kills with increased reload speed(kinda like when outlaw is triggered). You only get the ammo return and increased reload speed from kills.
-
All it needs is a range buff and its in the same as invective without the ammo regen
-
i dont know, i love this gun and i use it pretty well and get consistent kills, the only problems are the ammo burning and the range.
-
Make the thing a gatling shotgun. Make the mag ALL OF THE AMMO
-
-Increase the magazine to 8 -Increase fire rate -Replace return to sender with luck in the chamber -Significantly reduce recoil and increase stability -Reduce reload speed slightly. With this buffs the reload problem will be slightly worse, but it will be the ULTIMATE burst damage weapon.
-
Indeed it does. I've never seen it used in the crucible, not once. Come to think of it, I don't recall ever seeing it used PERIOD.
-
Buff reload!
-
I would prefer if they kept the original design that made thunderer fire all 4 barrels at once. Use it as a close range melter when something powerful like a super or major gets up in your face instead of like a primary.
-
How about with thunderer perk, make it have the persistence perk with it, this would really help
-
All Mid-low impact shotgun need a buff in both PvE & PvP
-
I didn't know anyone used that gun
-
The fact that it fires way too fast and the fact that your crosshair raises massively when you fire is a massive disadvantage when using the 4th horseman in both pve and pvp, perhaps making the thunderer perk optional or reducing the fire rate when fired in full auto is an idea which could be put forward. Other than that it's a great shotgun
-
Kinda
-
I agree. The 4th Horsemen is an arc Invective that doesn't regen ammo
-
Dreg's Promise is easily the worst "exotic" in the game. 4th Horseman is easily the most useless exotic in the game. Anything that would increase range/stability would be welcome. This thing is like giving a fireman's hose to a kid and telling them to water the plants with it.
-
Does it? I loved in House of Wolves but I've barely used it in The Taken King ( mainly because I usually have an Exotic Primary equipped ).
-
I think the horseman could use a buff but NOT range. It's not going to be good in pvp and that's ok. I think it would be great if they doubled damage, doubled held ammo, and increased reload speed. Make it a major/boss melter.
-
The horse mans cruddy reload is what kills it for me.

Edited by Komodo Kuzuri: 8/1/2016 11:58:58 AMIt needs an ammo buff, in line with lord of wolves. The thing is usable but takes a lot of shots too put someone down, and with the special nerf it just doesn't have enough ammo to last in a game. One love.
-
My first exotic Still love it how it is A buff would be nice
-
A little bit more range would be great. I don't use it anymore, when I just got it I would use it by getting right next to bosses and just letting it rip. Other than that, I don't see many circumstances where it can be used, given how poor the range is.
-
It's fine the way it is. The only buff shotguns need is the HoW-era damage multiplier in PvE back.
-
Edited by RAVPAV59: 8/1/2016 6:14:52 AMI remember when they gave shotguns that 100% dmg buff in PVE. I used to just jump into high level enemies faces with that gun and feed them liquid death through four straws.

Edited by JustnC: 8/1/2016 12:43:24 AMLose the 5th round Have it fire all shots at once like you imagine it's supposed to work instead of full auto. Lastly return to sender should work like 85% of the time 0 stability you should be kicked back by the recoil or if not that you should be looking at the sky

10 simple/avg changes that should be looked at now! https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/210156349/0/0

I think it's pretty good I used to be great with it but I'm a little rusty but yes I do agree hat the reload needs to be better
