Stian makes solid contact with the thick trunk of a tree. But, thanks to the spell he had cast before, it was dry and shriveled so it snapped upon contact.
He was groaning as he pulled himself up.
"That one hurt. I'm far too old to be flung around like this."
He was actually only 29 but tended to complain anyway.

Nora stumbles out of the wall, where a small crack has appeared. She falls to one knee [armory][/armory] "You're telling me."
-
"If you feel it's a good idea to continue I will oblige but..." Stian gestured around at the burned, overgrown, and dead plant life as well as the random patches of dead and burned grass. "It may be in our best interest not to cause much more devastation to the local area of any people are around"
-
Nora places a hand on the ground, the dead coming to life "I agree."
-
do you mean the plants? Or people?

okay good
"How noble. Dabbling in the magic of life, are we?" Stian twirled his sword and sheathed it. At the same time, the metal punches around him lined up and flew back into the pouch at his waist. "Dangerous games, one wrong move and you'll create horrible abominations with the wave of a hand"
-
"I'm not dabbling with it. I just have this kind of ability."
-
"A natural talent? Don't see too many of those. Born with it?"
-
"I don't know."
-
Stian dusted himself off any straightened his robes. Aside from a few scratches along the back, he was completely unharmed. "In any case, your counters were amazing. Best I've seen in quite some time"
-
"Thank you. You were quite the fighter."
-
"Bah. Not if I couldn't get through that defense." Stian rubs his eyes and stretches. His grunts and generally complains about his age again. "Did I gain entry to a warm bed? I could use a little rest"
-
"Feel free to come in. But to stay, I'll have to speak with the lieutenants
-
"Good. Should I hang out in the front entrance or wherever?" He pulled out a small Norse cross from around his neck and fiddled with it. He hardly seemed aware he was. "As long as I get a place to rest I should be fine. I place to stay for a good deal to train, however"
-
"Come on in. I'll give you a room while you wait."
-
"Alright. Thank you, Nora" Stian started to head back to the Dojo. He looked behind him and motioned with his free hand. "Come on now, daylight is always burning"
-
Nora follows in suit

As they approach the Dojo, Stian speaks. "You called me a mythologist earlier. If you do not practice the path of the gods, then what do you practice?"
-
"Define gods."
-
Stian was quiet for a while before answering. "Gods... Still mortal but not on a level we could understand. They were beings that possessed undefined abilities that tied in naturally with the forces that control and shape our world. In my shortest answer, I have no clue what they are. But, from what I have read and seen, many are honorable and have a great deal to teach. That is my definition. Being that seemingly defy the laws set in place by man with knowledge and abilities that we could not dream of"
-
Nora scoffs "Honorable."
-
Stian stops fiddling with his cross and grasps it tightly. "Yes. Honorable. To be filled with honor. No other beings were able to consistently hold that trait so dearly."
-
"Not exactly the word I'd use."
-
"Then please, enlighten me"
-
"Forgetful. Careless. Selfish."
