Greetings fellow Guardians,
So last year I put up a post just trying to find out a little about us as community members https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/144677885?showBanned=0&path=0 and thought it was pretty cool and would be a good time to do another for those who didn't get to join the original.
We see each other on these forums each day and we're a real community here on the #feedback forum and it's nice to get to know a little more about the people behind the names. So basically I'm going to put up a bunch of questions and if you'd like to participate, just copy/paste them and answer in the comments below. Some are the same as from the first post and some are new, play if you want :)
1) How did you come up with your Gamertag?
2) What is something interesting the community doesn't know about you?
3) If Destiny allowed naming our Guardians instead of using our Gamertags, who would you be?
4) What brought you to Destiny?
5) Why do you like playing or if you stopped, why did you stop playing?
6) What is your favorite thing to do in Destiny?
7) What's your least favorite thing about Destiny?
8) What game system do you play on?
9) What has been your favorite moment playing Destiny?
10) What has been your best/favorite drop in Destiny (or both if different)?
11) If you could add one thing in Destiny 2, what would it be?
12) Who is your favorite Destiny NPC and why?
13) What is your favorite class to play and why?
14) If your Guardian had a theme song, what would it be?
Have fun and see you in the comments below :)
How did you come up with your Gamertag?
My gamertag (King Hodor VII) is a reference to Game of Thrones. I felt like predicting the end; Hodor becoming king. Turns out his destiny lie elsewhere. King Hodor was taken, and I thought VII looked cool at the end. I guess it's fitting seeing as how I'm a fan of bungie games.
What is something interesting the community doesn't know about you?
I play 5 instruments, 3 of which I taught myself. I always wanted to go to school for music, but I realized that would take the exploration out of it. So now I'm a chemistry major; never expected that.
If Destiny allowed naming our Guardians instead of using our Gamertags, who would you be?
Hodooooooooooooor
What brought you to Destiny?
I heard in 2013 that bungie was making a new game, and I said "whatever". Then 1.5 years later, my physics teacher said "so who got destiny at midnight?", and I was like "oh shit I forgot destiny was a thing". I continued not to care. Then a few days later my friends all had their destiny apps pulled up saying "check out my level 7 warlock". Then I was like "ok, I'll try this out". So the next day, I bought an xbox one and destiny. Originally, destiny was just supposed to last me until Halo MCC came out, but here I am, still playing destiny.
Why do you like playing or if you stopped, why did you stop playing?
Despite the many things I dislike about it, Destiny is immersive as all -blam!-! It has gripping gameplay, awesome classes, and it looks and sounds amazing. Marty's music is powerful. I have destiny to thank for a great many social relationships and fun times. Overall it's been a great experience so far; that's why I stay.
What is your favorite thing to do in Destiny?
Raids. Raids. Raids. Raids. Raids. Raids. Raids. Raids.
What's your least favorite thing about Destiny?
Bungie's attitude towards the players; that we're unwise and dispensable. They've made great progress since the start; Cozmo has been a huge part of that. But it took them so many instances of -blam!-ing us to get to this point; I just can't forget that.
What game system do you play on?
game cube
What has been your favorite moment playing Destiny?
My favorite time playing destiny (which can only be repeated once in a great while) was running king's fall blind with my friends, the day it launched. It was our first time raiding without prior knowledge. We spent all weekend in that raid, and managed to kill oryx before reset. Sweet victory!
What has been your best/favorite drop in Destiny (or both if different)?
My most memorable drop was fatebringer. For weeks I raided the vault on hard mode with my friends, and I begged the guy who always had to run relic to let me run it, because I was convinced holding the relic would improve my luck. Surely enough, it happened. I was so -blam!-ing happy. People often ask "why do you always dwell on the past instead of just move on; year 1 is in the past?" My answer is......moments like that.
If you could add one thing in Destiny 2, what would it be?
Enemy armor sets.
Who is your favorite Destiny NPC and why?
Arcite 99-4. I see the torment in its eyes; you need him for your weapons, but Shaxx steals all the spotlight. All those guardians who buy his wares -- they don't remember him, they only remember the fuzzy-shouldered lord who saw them off with a witty comment. You can hear the resentment in his voice; "Shaxx is the crucible.
What is your favorite class to play and why?
Titan. And you know why.
If your Guardian had a theme song, what would it be?
Red Barchetta! Aside from it being the best song ever, its theme resonates with the titan class -- something from old which had a place, unchanged, yet now looked upon with disgust by many.
