Because you won't be able to do that after August 16th. You won't be able to just log into your character on your PS3. Infuse something. Then log into the same character on PS4 and get the infused item. That won't be a possibility after August 16th because nothing you do on a character on either console will affect the same character on the other console. They will be separate.
