Rebecca turned her headset on.
R: "Claudius, I see some skirmishers trying to flank our line. Get some men to deal with em, if you can."
She points in the flanker's general direction as she says that.
English
-
A horn sounded and a group of Auxlilia rushed to meet the skirmishers who were surprised to have been seen.
-
She grinned as the flankers were taken by Surprise. Another group of allies saved. She continued to float above to the opposition.
-
The eldar were beginning to charge Quintus and the mercenarius. They had surmised the fewer men lay on that end of the battlefield.
-
R: "Ah hell..." She used her other contact, connecting to Xavier's brain. R: "Xavier, get to Quintus. They've got fewer men over there." X: "Got it." As Xavier rushed to Quintus's position, Rebecca went back to Claudius. R: "You've got fewer men over there. Send more so that you'll be able to counter a huge attack."
-
Quintus had rallied his body guard of legionnaires and was holding out at the head of the line. Claudius didn't answer but he watched intently, even if he did send men, they would have to go around the battle, and that would take time.
-
Xavier did a running jump, then threw a time-stop on the enemy group that was attacking Quintus. As the enemy was frozen there, he fired a multitude of bullets from his rifle. The bullets were significantly slowed down when they entered the time-stop, but Xavier clicked his fingers and the bullets resumed their course, mowing down the attackers.
-
Quintus nodded to Xavier as he landed and picked up an eldar sword and threw it into an approaching warrior. The Romans were holding, but their mercenarius allies were fairing worse. Some were trained killers others were not. The toll was rising.
-
X: "Quintus, I'll put the injured in stasis fields. They cannot move in their state, but at least the enemy cannot reach them until the battle is over." Xavier started throwing purple balls of energy, which exploded into the so-called stasis bubbles. He managed to catch one that was about to fall to the ground, which was frozen in a falling state. Even if the Eldar tried to pierce the stasis fields, their bullets and swords cannot pierce them.
-
The eldar fed off the fear and pain of the men as they fell and died. It was clear no help was coming soon, but a small group of legionnaires were trying to break trough to relieve them, the centurion having seen the beloved commander in peril.
-
It was really meant to keep them in a frozen state until medical help could be found, but whatever.
Meanwhile, Rebecca continued to scout out the enemy.
-
thats just in general the Stasis fields work.
The eldar were beginning to sacrifice slaves to boost their power.
-
R: "Claudius, do you have any stealth units?"
-
"Unfortunately no, I see it too from here, nothing I can do at the moment about it."
-
R: "Dammit... I didn't want to use these, but..." She materialises a gunblade out of thin air, then gets to a point where nobody could see her shoot from above. He starts firing on the executors.
-
The few remaining guards around the slaves frantically look around to see where the shots came from as the legionnaires start to win the battle. Numbers were wearing down on the eldar.
-
She summoned another gunblade and continued to fire on the executors, careful not to hit the slaves. Hopefully the Eldars won't send out their last resort.
-
The executioners fell dead and the slaves picked up the weapons they dropped. Some charged to help the fight. Determined to be free, others hid.
-
Rebecca took the time to inspect the armour and weapons the executioners had.
-
Typical dark eldar weapons and armor, nothing she couldn't easily find a better substitute for back in general quarters.
-
She dropped them and continued to scout the enemy.
-
Their last units were fighting now, ad hoc groups began to throw themselves forward and back towards their enemies.
-
R: "Claudius, Uhhh... Do you guys take prisoners?"
-
"Not in this instance no, they would corrupt any others we have and the guards."
-
R: "Alright." Rebecca sat and watched her own team win.
-
As the eldar grew desperate thy turned to summoning a daemon, trying to take as many with them as possible.
