A Community Q & A (part 2): Feedback on you and your Destiny experience

Greetings fellow Guardians, So last year I put up a post just trying to find out a little about us as community members https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/144677885?showBanned=0&path=0 and thought it was pretty cool and would be a good time to do another for those who didn't get to join the original. We see each other on these forums each day and we're a real community here on the #feedback forum and it's nice to get to know a little more about the people behind the names. So basically I'm going to put up a bunch of questions and if you'd like to participate, just copy/paste them and answer in the comments below. Some are the same as from the first post and some are new, play if you want :) 1) How did you come up with your Gamertag? 2) What is something interesting the community doesn't know about you? 3) If Destiny allowed naming our Guardians instead of using our Gamertags, who would you be? 4) What brought you to Destiny? 5) Why do you like playing or if you stopped, why did you stop playing? 6) What is your favorite thing to do in Destiny? 7) What's your least favorite thing about Destiny? 8) What game system do you play on? 9) What has been your favorite moment playing Destiny? 10) What has been your best/favorite drop in Destiny (or both if different)? 11) If you could add one thing in Destiny 2, what would it be? 12) Who is your favorite Destiny NPC and why? 13) What is your favorite class to play and why? 14) If your Guardian had a theme song, what would it be? Have fun and see you in the comments below :)

 • 1) How did you come up with your Gamertag? Since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by the travelling shows and circuses of the early 19th Century. In junior high, I wrote a report on the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. It was this event that is credited with the birth of the travelling show that became so popular through much of the 19th century in America. In high school, I did a research paper on the history of the travelling show (i.e. carnivals/freak shows) in America, and became particularly interested in the carnival justice system. So, when I got back into video games, CarnivalLaw was the gamertag I wanted. 2) What is something interesting the community doesn't know about you? I took two consecutive fall semesters off from my undergrad work to be an elk and deer hunting guide in Montana. 3) If Destiny allowed naming our Guardians instead of using our Gamertags, who would you be? CarnivalLaw. 4) What brought you to Destiny? I got back into playing video games when my wife and step-son moved in seven years ago. At that time, I hadn’t played in years. But, my step-son had an Xbox 360 and a handful of games. It was a great way for the two of us to get close. During that time, I had a ton of fun playing Titanfall, Bioshock Infinite, Assassin’s Creed (Black Flag), and Borderlands 2; the last three games are in my top five all-time favorites. I’m a sci-fi/fantasy nut, so a space-based FPSRPG sounded right up my alley. 5) Why do you like playing or if you stopped, why did you stop playing? I love this game. Not entirely sure why. I know that it transcends addiction; I’ve been addicted to things. It’s really, um, unpleasant. Destiny is way too enjoyable for me to say that my love for it reflects my addiction for it. If anything, it’s the other way around: My addiction to Destiny reflects my love of it. I just want to play. I have little interest in light level other than how it applies to my ability to kill things. Despite its many problems, Destiny remains the most aesthetically beautiful game I’ve ever played and has the smoothest gunplay of any FPS, ever. Those are solid reasons to love it, if you ask me. That said, I hate the way Bungie has handled the game and treated its players. 6) What is your favorite thing to do in Destiny? I started this game a solo player, and most of my time continues to be spent enjoying collecting bounties and doing daily/weekly Crucible solo. Though I have made some really great friends here, too, who I enjoy running with on a regular basis. 7) What's your least favorite thing about Destiny? In game: the shitty connections. So unacceptable. Out of game: Bungie’s handling of the game and its treatment of this Community. 8) What game system do you play on? Started on the 360. Upgraded to the Xbone last year. 9) What has been your favorite moment playing Destiny? Having my son join me on a DTC podcast. 10) What has been your best/favorite drop in Destiny (or both if different)? Zhalo Supercell from an Exotic Engram on the first day of TTK. 11) If you could add one thing in Destiny 2, what would it be? Open world exploration. 12) Who is your favorite Destiny NPC and why? Prior to TTK, it was the Queen, because I am a man with eyes and ears. BRING BACK THE QUEEN. Since TTK, it’s Cayde-6, because he’s one funny dude. Really, he’s the only NPC ever allowed to say anything interesting. BRING BACK DINKLEBOT. 13) What is your favorite class to play and why? Striker Titan from Day 1. Still play Striker in PvP; though in PvE, my Defender is Champion of Bubble Badassery. 14) If your Guardian had a theme song, what would it be? Carry Your Throne by Jon Bellion
