So i for one have noticed a new trend of "what elements". Yes, Arc and Solar can be viewed that way but not Void.
Why?
Because it's actually different forms of light. That's why stupid shit like "plant, water, ICE, or heart" cannot work.
Please quit posting that you want this game to be your favorite cartoons, because well... Noone else does.

We should just have these original subclasses for the whole game in my opinion.

Ice can magnify our inner light into brilliant power. Plus as the story goes on the writers can change anything they want. As of right now we use 3 light based classes. Later on we could easily start trying to gain new forms of power because we can't rely on the dying or evil traveler. Or as we explore farther from the traveler towards pluto, we are going to need to use forms of power that don't rely on the traveler. Even the Dreadnought is considered far from the traveler. There are no set laws that we have in destiny yet, so anything can happen, including random new elements like ice

Edited by Heidegger: 7/28/2016 4:38:18 PMYou're 100% correct this isn't Avatar. Watching the show by myself was actually fun and later discussing it with friends. On the other hand Destiny is pretty mediocre when playing solo but shines once you find a clan to do daily activities with(Raid. Strikes, Crucible)
Yes yes, kids talking about random subclasses like ice, earth and even life reaper. I read your post.
Next subclass...Explosion . It has light.

The whole Void argument had me thinking. Came across this, via wiki: Void (ether) 空 Kū or sora, most often translated as "Void", but also meaning "sky" or "Heaven", represents those things beyond our everyday experience, particularly those things composed of pure energy. Bodily, kū represents spirit, thought, and creative energy. It represents our ability to think and to communicate, as well as our creativity. It can also be associated with power, creativity, spontaneity, and inventiveness. Kū is of particular importance as the highest of the elements. In martial arts, particularly in fictional tales where the fighting discipline is blended with magic or the occult, one often invokes the power of the Void to connect to the quintessential creative energy of the world. A warrior properly attuned to the Void can sense their surroundings and act without thinking, and without using their "physical senses". So technically, it is an element. I'm pretty sure Bungie wouldn't just throw it in there without doing their research, in some fashion.

...well, at least this isn't a nerf post. So, progress?

They could do a blend of all 3 classes and call it Prismatic.

Plants use Photosynthesis aka Light

"Elemental damage" - Bungie, talking about primaries in Year 2 and the lack of burns. Your argument is now null and void.
