They was just too many of them. The Tyranids were know for their swarming tactics, defeating the enemy with sheer numbers. They were displaying that tactic right now. As you fight and fight and fight, a warrior crept from the corner of your eye, but much more was in front of you. This was it, this was your end.
"If you are to die in combat-"
The familiar blade of a Power Sword, a blade of Caliban, jutted through the Warrior about to kill you. The blade was lifted up, splitting the Warrior on half in a shower of green blood. There stood Leonidas, covered in Tyranid blood, wielding his Blade of Caliban, and a Death Watch Force Staff in harmony. He stared at you.
"-then I suggest you die for something like honor, and not something useless like grasping on to a dead idea."
He was helping you, cutting down Tyranids and blasting them with his Force Staff.
"You know, I was never a fan of you fanatics."
He decapitated a Tyranid.
"But Xenos I hate more."
This was apparent, to say the least, with his right pauldron sporting a Tyranid skull. He continued his onslaught. Out of nowhere, the Khornate Berzerker known as Iratus, charged from behind you and pinned a group on Xenos into a wall. They exploded on impact. He continued to cut them down with his dual Two Handed Chainaxes, laughing, as his weapons and armor alike were catching fire. He stared at you.
"Just know my friend there held back last time. He isn't a fan of killing someone who doesn't deserve it."
He let out a roar as he continued in aiding you in combating Xenos scum.
What a day.

The Black Templar wasn't a fan of the Heretics. Not at all. But now he was becoming ever so slightly heretical himself: he was beginning to have his doubts. The more he thought, the more these two seemed okay. Hell, Leonidas' words from before held some truth if he thought about it.. But.. they were Heretics! He had to exterminate them, but they were helping him. Yet.. Skatai was very much conflicted, but snapped out if it once a Hormagaunt (think that's how it's spelt) charged the Templar, and almost dug its claws in the Marine - but the Templar handled quickly, moving to the side with a stumble, and then tearing into the bug with his Chainsword. He decided he would leave his thoughts - along with the two Heretics - alone until they were all as safe as they could be in a Deamon infested death ship.
-
Iratus continued his fiery onslaught. Literally. The Berzerker and his axes were ON FIRE. He didn't mind it. He laughed like a mad man, each ounce of blood he spilt seemed to make him grow in strength. "OH WHAT A DAY! WHAT A LOVELY DAY! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Meanwhile, Leonidas was using the Warp against the Xenos. Slashing and hacking with his Power Sword, blasting any Tyranid that got too close with a torrent of arcane energy. Fire and lighting, he unleashed it from his figure, killing horde after horde.
-
The Space Marine slowly let go of the Chainsword arm, dropping it on the floor, making the arm splash in the green blood. The man took his Bolter - which was still bound to the Templar's arm with a Devotion Chain - and slowly reloaded the weapon, aiming it at the Tyranid horde again. He started firing, eliminating Tyranid after Tyranid with the explosive bolts. The Templar had decided to stay back for now, not wanting to get more wounded than he already was - even though his death was most likely certain, but just maybe.. it wasn't. Maybe there was a chance for him to survive. He made sure not to hit Leonidas or Iratus, not wanting to waste any bolts and start more hostilities. "What a weird day this is.." He mumbled to himself, looking at the Leonidas, and then at Iratus. The Black Templar's eyes stayed on the Berzerker for a bit - he was on fücking fire after all - though he kept firing on the bugs.
-
The two friends continued their onslaught. They eventually got back to back, being pressured by the Tyranids. What they did next was....beautiful. They fought and fought and fought. Never leaving each other's side, slaying in perfect harmony. One moved to let the other kill a bug, and the other one killing a second bug shortly after. It's like they could read each other's minds.

Edited by Nox: 7/28/2016 4:31:32 PM"The power of friendship," The Black Templar muttered weakly, doing a stumble before leaning against a nearby wall, his breathing heavy, new wounds having found their place on him. He was bleeding quite a lot still. The Tyranid horde eventually stopped completely, every single bug being killed by now. The Templar was still leaning against the wall, his breathing still rather heavy. Wheezing now, too.
-
Iratus and Leonidas were breathing heavily, their armor stained with blood. Leonidas said something to Iratus that you couldn't hear. Iratus nodded, and began to walk among the corpses. Leonidas went over to the Templar. "Sit down and relax. You're tired and probably wounded."
-
The "probably" was completely redundant, the wounds on the Templar being very obvious; especially the one in his shoulder. He slowly slid down the wall as he sat down on the floor, his head resting back. His breathing gradually got less heavy, but the wheeze remained.
-
Leonidas took off the Templar's helmet. Leonidas took out his Narthecium and slid it onto his arm. A large needle filled up with a green liquid. He looked at the Templar. "This is going to hurt. A lot." Leonidas wasted no time after that, as he stabbed the Templar's neck with the needle. The green liquid slowly seeped into the wounded Space Marine's veins. And holy shit was it painful.
-
The Templar had a small stream of blood leaking from the right corner of his mouth, and both his eyes were closed shut. He managed a small nod after Leonidas was done talking, and gritted his teeth. Then the needle was jabbed in his neck. He winced and groaned in pain as the liquid seeped into his veins. He clenched his remaining hand into a fist, his blue eyes flying open. His breathing became a wheeze again. Sure, he was very much used to pain, but it so hurt like hell.
-
His breathing eventually became unhindered. He felt no pain, he didn't feel tired. He felt fine. Leonidas sighed and put his Narthecium. "There. The serum reverted you back to your optimal physical state. Your wounds are gone. You should be fine." Leonidas held out a hand, hoping to help the Templar up to his feet.
-
Edited by Nox: 7/28/2016 5:17:52 PMThe Templar took a deep breath before taking the Deathwatch's hand with a small, grateful nod. Once on his feet, he slowly exhaled, gesturing to his helmet. "Thank you for all you've done lately.. Besides the.. stabbing of my shoulder.. I expected the end there.. When I saw the horde, the Warrior, and then again when I saw you.."
-
"Don't thank me just yet, you could be turned inside out any second in this place." Leonidas looked around, then gesturing Iratus to join the two. Iratus arrived, cleaning his axes.
-
"That's very much true.. If I'm not mistaken, we're currently in the Warp.. Explains all the Xenos scum. Daemon infested, this place is. And I don't like it in the slightest. Makes you think why we're even here.." He looked over to Iratus, and the first thing he said was, "Why were you on fire, earlier?"
-
Edited by Xeno: 7/28/2016 5:42:50 PMIratus let out a hearty laugh, full of pride and joy. "Its one of the many perks ye get when yer friends with The Blood God!"
-
"Ah.. Interesting.. How did you two even meet? It's surprising that you both lived through your meeting.. Unless he," He nodded to Leonidas, "Was always a Heretic."
-
"Nah! Leonidas was actually following the Emp for a time. We met. Kicked each others asses. And then I showed him the lie he was living!" Leonidas nodded and looked at the Templar. "I hope I can do the same to you."
-
"The lie he was living.. Excuse me for asking, but what Chapter were you? You certainly weren't a Black Templar.. And do try.." He said, looking back at Leonidas, the helmet being back on his head at the time.
-
Leonidas stood still when the mentioning of his previous Chapter. "No. I cannot. I took an oath." He looked away, as if it sprouted bad memories. Iratus put a hand on Leonidas' shoulder.
-
The Templar said a soft, "oh," and went very silent afterwards, just standing still in silence for a while. Then it was like he wanted to say something, but ended up changing his mind.
-
Leonidas let out a sigh of relief as it was over. The terrors of his mind subsided. Leonidas looked back at the Templar. "So what now?"
-
The Templar responded with a very simple and soft, "Convince me." It should be obvious what he was talking about. And if it wasn't: he wanted Leonidas to.. open Skatai's eyes.
-
Leonidas looked at the Templar. "When was the last time you saw the Emperor?"
-
The Templar just looked back at Leonidas, staring as he carefully said, "I don't think I've ever seen Him.."
-
"Then prove he exists."
-
oshit
The Templar fell silent, thinking as he looked down at the ground. "I.. can't.." He very silently said, almost like a whisper.
