This makes sense Story-wise, since the Overflow perk is using the Warlock's Light to power the gun.
And since the weapon is all about trading your super, it seems fair that you should be able to use it for elemental damage your super would have done.
Also, we need more Exotic Elemental Primaries other than Zhalo Supercell, and this seems like a good place to start.
p.s. You know how Bishop from X-Men can channel energy into his gun? Same idea.

No, the problem with this is it's a warlock exclusive weapon. With the introduction of swords that can take more damage from a certain element, making too many elemental primaries would put primaries at an even bigger disadvantage during heavy rounds. I myself love killing all 4 guys that pick up heavy before they ever get to use it, wouldn't be very fun or fair if the guy running at you used an arc sword shield against a solar or void primary.
