The Flaming Knight of Heaven
Theresa's prelude for the not-upcoming quest.
Theresa's first day at the dojo had been an eventful one. She had met many people, and then fought a tough fight against Yuria.
As she polishes and sharpens Rose of Flames by the fireplace in her room, she hears a soft knocking at her door. She goes to open it, and standing there is a tall knight, about 6'7". He wears a helmet, obscuring his face, although Theresa seems to recognize him.
"What do you want, Knight Ephiateus?"
"You seem to not acknowledge the fact that you fled the Knights of Heaven, Knight Theresa."
"I know well enough of my own actions, but that does not answer what you are doing here."
"I thought it would be obvious. I'm here to bring you back."
"You are in no place to-"
Suddenly, a crashing noise can be heard. Two knights equally as tall as Ephiateus jump in through the windows, drawing their swords.
"We knew you wouldn't come willingly, Knight Theresa. Rose of Flames or not, you cannot take on three of us."
All the commotion attracts you.
Open. Your options are
>Aid Theresa
>Aid the Knights
"Uh-uh. No way." After a moment, Yuria sorta yells out. "Can I hold it?! PLEASE?! I'll give it right back, I promise. And we can go back to mercilessly slaughtering each other."
-
Ephiateus goes into an offensive stance. "You are not my target. Theresa is." Even though Excalibur does not seem to be at full strength, it's enough to send Yuria flying into a wall, and the wall cracks. Ephiateus walks over to Theresa, who is now surrounded by three knights.
-
Yuria falls over, pissed. "Get back here...and DIE." She gets back up, furious.
-
Rose of Flames, strengthen thy strength, to destroy the evil! A small flame spirals towards Yuria. When it reaches her, her strength is increased massively.
-
"Holy...Holy. Huh." She approaches the head knight dude. Excalibur bro. Yeah, him.
-
Ephiateus raises Excalibur, not knowing off Rose of Flame's abilites.
-
Yuria approaches, Darkdrift at her side. And anticipating an attack.
-
Ephiateus strikes out.
-
She simply dodges it, going past him and slamming Darkdrift into his heel.
-
The sword slams into him with strength Yuria wasn't expecting, and he goes flying, falling over. He doesn't seem all that great of a swordsman....
-
"Oh...that's something." She turns her attention to Theresa and the other two.
-
Theresa finally has had enough, and buff herself. She slams her sword on the two of them, and they go crashing down multiple stories. She turns her attention to Ephiateus, who gets up, groaning. He raises Excalibur, and slashes, blasting Yuria with holy light. Again, not as strong as it should be, but still knocking Yuria into a wall.
-
Yuria gets up again, pissed. "So unskilled, to the point where you rely on a legendary blade..." She's furious, really.
-
"I-I don't know what you're talking about!" He raises Excalibur in defense. "Drop it, Knight." Theresa points Rose of Flames at Ephiateus.
-
"You don't deserve to wield that weapon..." Yuria is shaking with rage.
-
"I-I have every right to wield a blade passed down by my fathers before me-" Theresa smacks Excalibur out of her window. "I-what?" "You aren't worthy of Excalibur. You were taught about legendary swords only working properly for those who are worthy, no?" "Y-you... what did you just do!?!"
-
Yuria doesn't even respond. Although her face is covered by her mask...she's clearly enraged.
-
"I-look, how about I go...." Theresa points Rose of Flames at Ephiateus. "I don't know how you laid your filthy hands on Excalibur, but you deserve to die." She raises Rose of Flames, and seconds later, Ephiateus' head rolls on her floor.
-
For once...she's shocked. "Oh...didn't expect you to...do that, but ok..."
-
"Sooo. There's a legendary sword outside my room."
-
"Y...yeah? You take it. I'm...I don't deserve it, honestly." Yuria is shaking.
-
Yuria and Theresa look out the window, but the sword is gone....
-
Yuria looks back at Theresa. "...Shit..."
-
"That can't be good...." A man with golden hair, bright yellow eyes, around 29, appears at the doorway, Excalibur over his shoulder. "Thanks for returning Excalibur to me." He says. He seems to radiate pure, holy power. "Really sucked having that vermin lay his hands on it."
-
Yuria turns, a little less violent. "Wait. Don't tell me. You're...whoever used Excalibur, I forgot." She starts trying to remember whoever used the holy blade long ago. She suddenly thought about how this new guy and Theresa would think if they found out she served a Primordial Serpent... No. They can't know, they won't know. She thinks to herself. Although the thought kept bothering Yuria, she didn't act like it did. "...Honestly, I have no clue. Who are you?"
