Honestly, this is one of the few instances where the manga is much better than the anime. Once S2 starts, it does not follow the manga, which is a shame as I believe the original story is better. S2 really doesn't set up for Tokyo Ghoul:re, so I don't know what S3 will be about so far.

let me just finish gintama first

Edited by Spøøpy Nygma: 7/21/2016 1:42:05 PMMY FAVORITE ANIME OF ALL TIME!!!!!!! S3 comes out this fall!!!
-
Well i didnt hate it but it would be great if the next season followed the manga
-
I hated Tokyo Ghoul. I don't know why, I just didn't enjoy it.
-
Manga is still better, but season 3 needs to hurry the hell up.
-
People hated it for too much focus on one upcoming battle and such. I felt some trolling going on by the creators due to feel on hints of underlying messages. I liked it.

Edited by Nerin: 7/21/2016 1:56:00 AMI'm gonna be honest here read the manga as well as it's sequel Tokyo ghoul: RE it's a lot better than the anime was. I usually try not to discriminate between manga and anime but it's a clear fact.
"Kaneki" dies in the first manga in the fight against Arima... He get's destroyed by him with little to no competition
Edited by OnlyAlfredo: 7/20/2016 8:29:28 PMHere's my problem with S2. Season 1 was so amazing because of how they developed Kaneki as a character. Seriously. It's great character development. Through the entire show you just keep waiting for him to finally snap and become a badass. And he does...in the last two minutes of the show. They make him ridiculously overpowered. So then you're like, "oh man, can't wait for season 2!" Where he gets like 3 episodes dedicated to him. They spent way too much time on side characters nobody cares about, rather than following the character that they spent an entire season developing. The scenes that he's in the show, they make him seem like a badass. He's evolving and becoming way overpowered. Then the final fight with the detective(been a while, can't remember his name), they threw out all of his abilities for no reason, other than, "oh well the cops angry so he's now strong." Even in the manga, the fight lasts about 2 seconds because Kaneki is so OP that he doesn't even have to try to destroy the guy. But in the anime, they make him struggle for no reason other than to create false tension. It's stupid. That being said, I still enjoyed S2, and I'm hopeful for S3.

Edited by Sage 13: 7/23/2016 6:44:07 AMIt was ok, the anime wasn't as good as I expected.

I've never been entirely sure how to feel about Tokyo Ghoul S2. Most of it wasn't too great, but the last few episodes were some of the best individual episodes I've ever seen.
